No idea. I just figured Zant was destroying his connection with Ganondorf. But that would mean that Zant was alive.

Ask a dozen people, and you'd probably get a dozen different interpretations.

Re: Is Ganondorf dead?

I'm one of those people who thinks Zant is alive too. I hope someone doesn't hurt me...

I reakon from the cutscenes in TP, and the nature of his 'death', as well as the 'neck-snap', it is possible Zant is alive. Gunna have to wait and see.

(As i said in an earlier post, i hope he returns.)

Re: Is Ganondorf dead?

I have a similar interpretation. Apparently, Ganondorf couldn't take on a corporeal form in the Twilight Realm. The malice of the Twili awoke him, and that's when he appeared to Zant. He gave Zant some of his power, which allowed him to take over the Twilight Realm, and Zant, in turn, helped Ganondorf take on a corporeal form and manipulate the Twilight. Zant believed Ganondorf to be a god. It's possible that Ganondorf resurrected Zant after his death, because Ganondorf needed him to retain his form and power over the Twilight. I believe that when Zant saw that Ganondorf wasn't, in fact, a god, he severed their connection, realizing he had been tricked. So, Ganondorf may not necessarily be dead; he may just be a spirit much like he was when he was sealed in the Twilight Realm.

Re: Is Ganondorf dead?

question...

Does ALttP really count as a revival? I'm in the middle of TP right now and don't have time to play that and ALttP but all I remeber from that snes game is the back story having Ganon sealed away and then later he kind of comes out of aghahim as a bat and flies to where the triforce resides. I'm not sure how this is a ressurection. Can someone please help me out here. Much apreciated.

As far as I know, it's not a resurrection. He was alive in the backstory, which is why he was sealed in the Sacred Realm. He dies at the end of the game, though.

Re: Is Ganondorf dead?

so... wouldn't that require a three split timeline? if he dies at the end of WW and TP

MM-TP
/
OoT-ALttP
\
WW-PH

I'm sure there's something I'm missing here.

It's possible he was resurrected before the backstory of A Link to the Past. Or, like I believe, if he wasn't exactly killed at the end of Twilight Princess, he'd just have to consolidate his power over a long period of time to regain his corporeal form, similar to how he would have to after the Oracle games.

Re: Is Ganondorf dead?

NuHylian, there are various theories about aLttP and it's backstory.
At the time of it's release, OoT was supposed to be the aLttP backstory, but many believe it no longer is, because WW has Ganon escaping the Sacred Realm and dying.
So we can't say for sure where aLttP goes, or if it's related to the Seal cast in OoT.

I like to just call the LTTP line the "classic" timeline. Technically it's a second adult timeline, but thats what we're left with under this interpretation. I kinda suspect that if Nintendo has a master timeline, it probably doesn't include anything but the 3D games. It really a makes it pretty easy as far as timelines are concerned to put LTTP by it's self, but I doubt it would hold much satisfaction for folks who just really really want everything to fall into the two branch model.
(classic)---OOT-LTTP-LA-LoZ-AoL
(adult)---OOT-WW-PH
(child)---OOT-MM-TP

For the most part, there are very few unaccounted for Ganon rebirths or weird things by writing it this way, just LoZ. Of course this doesn't help with the question of what to do with the Zelda games made by Flagship.

Re: Is Ganondorf dead?

Ok so say we have a split timeline with Ganondorf/Ganon coming back, how many Links are there? Is it just a never ending battle between Link's decendants and Ganondorf? Also if Zant can be resurrected after been blown to pieces then that would be interesting because Zant is daid.

I think most people agree in at least 5 or 6 Links. Some more, some less.

Won't happen because a lot of Zelda fans can't let Ganon go. So somehow he will be ressurected and the only way to 'kill' him again will be with the Master Sword and some [colored] arrows.
