Dark Link

This is a short theory, but here goes.....

As we all know, after the Legend of Zelda (Game), Ganon/Ganondorf is dead. However, as we all know, in Adventure of Link, we fight Dark Link. But where could he come from? Maybe, Dark Link is an ally of Ganon. Very likely, since they are both evil. Also, if we look to the triforce we see 3 triangles. All normal, but what about the missing one in the middle? Maybe this symbolizes Dark Link, the unknown enemy that was shown in Adventure of Link and Ocarina of time(?).

Anyway, tell me what you think.....

I don't want to sound too skeptical and nasty, but you're making alot of guesses there. Dark link would seem to fall short of a goddess, which is after all what the conventional triforce represents.

Well, there always could be an extra god/goddess that is up there that the sages didn't want us to know about. Also, (another guess) if Ganon was dead, maybe Dark Link got his triforce?

There is not a 4th god/ess
There is not a 4th Triforce piece
The empty space means nothing. Nothing at all.

If there was any correlation between the Triforce and Shadow Link, why has it never been hinted at in any way?
There's a hole in the middle because the Triforce is 3 separate and individual items that come together and form one. That is all.

To many guesses to build anything on. You're useing reasoning without evidence. I could say that Dark Link is the negative force transfered by his time travel expirience. An Inverse of his soul of some sort. But in the end though dark Link makes enough appearances to be significant what we are given is more mysterious than conclusive. In short both the theory I just made up and the theory you propose can be put up against thousands of other theories that could be just as right or wrong. Making the odds that yours is the one that's right... very minimal. Its fun to guess though I'll give you that.

Well, sorry then...

I like to think that Dark Link is a test. We don't know that much about him at all...really nothing at all. So the Triforce Of Courage could sense somebody that is possibly worthy of the Triforce piece in the room and copies that person and makes a shadow of them. So it could be a test of the Triforce.

My theory is that link lost too much evil and it manifisted it self as that. That or Gannondorf made it to kill link in oot.

Dark Link is a cliche enemy with no purpose or story. Stop talking about him because he doesn't deserve any of this damn attention.

I didn't insult, merely stated the facts. And then I sent him a PM explaining to him how to balance facts/assumptions to present a good theory.

Dark Link =/= Shadow Link

Dark Link is not evil. He was a test, a mirror image of the intruder, to test that they were worthy of whatever it was guarding.

Shadow Link was created from the Dark Mirror by Ganon and used to trick Link into pulling the Four Sword and freeing Vaati.

Simple as that.
