I heard this theory years ago and today have no idea who to give the credit or blame to for its brilliance/flimsyness. In mine and that other guy i cant remember's opinion, when Link falls into the pit chasing the skull kid, he dies. In the last few moments before impact (with the cushiony flower SHUT UP), the major events of Link's life are vaguely summarised in the story that is Majora's Mask.
For starters, Link is subject to racial prejudice as the deku scrub, or his OOT counterpart, the boy without a fairy... uh.. the only other evidence i can remember (I'm too lazy to come up with any myself) is Ganon/Majora's Mask(the master) and the skull kid/ganondorf (the puppet). I desperately hope that my theory won't be crushed by hordes of more solid and plentiful evidence within it's budding moments.

Hmmm, it sounds quite interesting, but I would like to see a link to the original thread. The parts that you have remembered make a lot of sense, like this bit:

I think if Link had died it would have been at least hinted at though...

At the end of Majora's Mask, Link is back in the lost woods drawing a picture of Skull Kid. The lost woods are in Hyrule, and thus, Link has returned home and is quite a live.
Plus the manual and the directors state that Termina is a parallel world.

^ In addition to that TP supports the Idea that Link returned to Hyrule to become the ancient hero spoken of in TP.

Even though there are obviously many similarities between OoT and MM, there are many things that don't quite match up. Like finding the three spiritual stones (4 temples in MM), meeting Zelda, etc etc.

Ganondorf is not a puppet to Ganon, they're the same dude.

Oh and...the racial prejudice point only further supports Eroticas claims that Zelda is racicistic. I mean, Deku Link is black, right? :XD

The returning to the Lost Woods could also be symbolic of something, it does not necessarily mean that he is alive.

Some people believe that directors quotes and manual aren't 100% canon.

I'd like to say that I don't support this theory at all, but I'm just arguing for the sake of it. :XD

Just throwing this out there, but I say instruction manuals are, but director quotes aren't.

Namely because people can misspeak or make mistakes, but the manuals are proof read and released with the game.

Understood, but Ganondorf's relationship with his Ganon form could be interpreted in more than one way. Ganon could be just Ganondorf aided by the triforce of power, but I like to think that in a way it's the triforce of power, having been manipulated by his grasp, taking control of him.

I wouldn't call manuals 100% canon either. Manuals aren't designed or printed by the developers, thus not 100% certain.
