Snowpeak Mansion, Ashei's former home?

This may be a commonly accepted idea, or maybe completely stupid and pointless, so I apologize in advance if this thread's a waste of time.

Anyway, I was reading the script of TP today (like a book, I'm such a geek), and this quote that I've read countless times in-game stuck out at me:

Ashei - "I grew up in the mountains with my father, who was a knight in his own right. He taught me the arts of war as though I was his son."

Normally I'd skip on through this without giving it a thought, but by reading through the script like this I've come to notice a lot of what seems like pointless conversation actually has some deeper meaning in Zelda games.

When I thought of what the point of this could possibly be, it smacked me in the face like a ton of hand bricks.

It's like a perfect explanation for Snowpeak Mansion in its entirety. How did these giant beasts get such a snazzy house all to themselves (even Midna mentions this)? Why was it filled with all kinds of medieval weapons?

The answer is simple, they belonged to Ashei's father, a war-obsessed knight dude. Ashei left home and the mansion became vacant for unknown reasons (fear of the living suit of armor perhaps), then it started breaking down and the yetis moved in.

Perhaps all the paintings lying around support this theory, I can't check until tomorrow.

Yeah, I know trying to give explanations for the mansion makes it less funny and ridiculous, but I couldn't help myself.

Edit: This part was previously a joke that people didn't know how to not take seriously, so it's gone now. Note to self: Zelda is serious business.

behold(This is a link)

sorry if i seem uninterested.
it's late.

yah, this was a pretty debatable topic a while back.
i checked it out, and it seems plausible(what you're saying)

although...the hero's shade is most likely the Hero of Time.

^ I was about to post that link.^_^

But that thread is old, I think it would be nice to here some some fresh opinions about Snowpeak mansion.
I advise everybody to read the old thread though, there is some good stuff in it.

Ah, I took a several month break from the world of Zelda so I missed that thread. So many people spelling it "Ashie". >_<

The posts about the mansion being deteriorated by weapons were pretty interesting, I'll have to look for that stuff next time I'm up north. Boomerang jump glitch should help out with that.

I'm too lazy to read that whole thread, was there any discussion of the paintings? I never really looked too closely at them, I'm thinking maybe one might be a portrait or something that might give more info on the matter.

The Hero's Shade part of the post was meant as a joke, really, hence the :OOOO. I don't agree with it being the Hero of Time, but I'll save that for another thread.

i've looked at every single painting in the past(out of curiosity) and I assure you there's nothing that can give more info.(on Ashei and the mansion at least)

the mansion is full of painting that represent different places of Hyrule. There are amongst others Hyrule castle, Arbiters ground, and Ordon.
There are also some pictures of unidentified people, some speculate that those are Ashei's relatives.

I remember reading the old thread before I joined...

I personally agree with this theory. Ashei's father could have been a knight serving the King of Hyrule, perhaps given the duty to protect the Snowpeak area. Why it was forced into ruin, and why nobody lives there now (apart from the Yeti's) I have no idea. It is a very interesting theory though, with some evidence to support and nothing to really contradict it.

I doubt that Ashei's father is the Hero's Shade, it seems more likely that he is an ancestor of Link from TP.

It sounds pretty good to me. It all seems to fit together to me. And why would Ashei join the resistance if she wasn't involved in anything about Hyrule? That means it makes sense that Ashei's father is a knight. Good job!

Man I really can't get across the fact that the second half of the post is not to be taken seriously. I just don't get it.

I don't see anything wrong with this theory. It's one of those "Not hugely important, but rather interesting" theories that are hard to disprove.

Great, someone used my theory without giving me credit. I am thoroughly offended!

JK

Anyway, I agree that it is intresting but it can't be proved. Then agian, it can't be disproved either .
