The power of toc

We all know that toc gives the user incredable courage, but in some cases it does nothing like in the ww. Link took on Ganondorf without it and never needed it. In oot link was already gonna take on ganon(dorf) before he even got toc. He took on other grate evils to such as Vaati in the mc. So my point is what is the actual benefit link gets from toc?

In TP it is pretty much keeping him alive in the Twilight Realm.

Well I reckon courage, being an inherently "good" quality, might counteract Ganondorf's inherent evil and fear-inducing powers maybe.

I wouldn't think that it grants him courage, since he manages to take on and go through with plenty of quests/games without it.

I really don't know what the ToC gives Link but I do not think it is courage.

Particularly since, if I'm not incorrect, Link Received the Triforce of Courage because he already had a great deal of courage, didn't he?

In OoT's final battle it seems to be what protects Link from that weird attack Ganondorf uses that blows Navi away.

In TP it protects Link from the changing power of the Twilight Realm.

In TWW it grants him access to Hyrule again.

In AoL's backstory it causes disaster when its wielder doesn't possess certain qualities.

In all the games it's necessary to complete the Triforce and thus get a wish.

From all this, it seems that it protects its wielder from various things, and the Goddesses seem to acknowledge its wielder as a worthy hero.

So basicly its something you get if your recognized by the godess/ needed to be recognized. Very limited power then.

That's just weird.
I think it's the other way around. The triforce of courage comes to Link because he already has that particular quality it represents. And same goes for the other two. The parts simply symbolize the powers that the bearers already have.

Au contraire: being recognised by the Goddesses, as I see it, means you're pretty much gonna win every battle, since 'destiny' and the Gods themselves are on your side. The ToC gives the power of 'victory', as I see it. Even when Ganondorf took the ToC in TWW, he STILL didn't win cos the Goddesses didn't want him to.

It wasn't really the Godesses who wanted him to win, Daphnes just ninja'd the Triforce and made the Godesses give Link future. like so:

If I remember correctly, which i may not so I may be wrong, didn't Navi after being blown back go even farther forward?

acctually that was the Master sword that did that. Link had the Triforce since the very begining of the game, and didn't stop transforming until he got the Master Sword.

EDIT: the ToC did stop Link from transforming into a flame if that's what you ment. but it didn't protect him from all the changing power.

All those I agree with.

I don't really know what the ToC does. I used to think it gave him courage, but it has been said that he needs that quality to get the ToC. I don't think it does anything exept give Link a higher chance of living. The ToP doesn't really do anything (as far as I can remember) exept when Ganondorf is dying/dead. I belive that the toc and tow would just do the same thing, and give them a little extra life when they need it.
