Is there a timeline ?

Personally, I believe that there is a Time Line, I have recently been persuaded so.
I believe that Link is reborn throughout time to save the world again...

Please, post your ideas about the matter and vote in the poll above.

Re: Is there a timeline ?

There is no timeline? While were at it, lets say things like "There is no gravity", "There is no such thing as light", and "Sega games are innovative and high quality". Due to the fact that we live in a linear timeline, there has to be a timeline. That is the main concept of time. If you don't understand a linear timeline, watch the pilot episode of Star Trek Deep Space Nine. It is explianed so well there that even aliens get it. Or you could do it the boring way and read physics, or philosophy, or whatever.

I'm not saying they all hapen on 1 timeline (I'm a splittist), but there definantly is a timeline.

Re: Is there a timeline ?

That is not what I meant! I mean that they did not all happen on one timeline!, And by the way, there is no gravity, the Earth just sucks,

Re: Is there a timeline ?

I put down that there isn't because honestly, when I play, I don't think about whether the game is or not. I play each game independently of the others.

Re: Is there a timeline ?

There is a timeline... it is what you make it to be. The information given to us is too screwed to really accurately say for sure what is or isn't an absolute as a timeline.

You couldn't really use geography past a certain degree, because the developers aren't going to make each Zelda game with the same land, towns, and so on.

There is enough information to patch together a number of timelines, but a few things will go against it. To create the perfect timeline with no contradictions can't happen.

Re: Is there a timeline ?

OMG let me guess its in the childhood timelne right? If it was in the childhood timeline that makes no sense. I thought the Hero of time didnt return? Isnt that how WW starts off? And how come Epona is in the game and not the hero of time Link. Zelda is becoming like an Final fantasy series. New storylines different characters (this case being different Links). If I made Zelda I would say they were connected somehow myself. TP is just a different storyline, TP is just another excuse to bring Ganon back. He obviously dies in WW so the creator went like "**** GUYS WE KILLED GANON WHAT DO WE DO NOW" OH I KNOW LETS MAKE A NEW ZELDA SAY ITS CONNECTED WITH THE OTHER ZELDAS AND BAM BRING GANON BACK". Thats how I see it. To me theres only one Link and thats the "Hero of time" because all the other Links are a joke compared to him.

Re: Is there a timeline ?

I might say so myself. But! there definantly is a timeline,

OoT- MM - WW - PH - TP

See? OoT connects with MM, Then the WW, and PH, Then Link will eventually age, and TP is born. As you have noticed, TP Link is not as old as OoT Lnk, He is 16, So it completes the timeline.

Re: Is there a timeline ?

Is that the scheme of the linear timeline? Since that's not possible anymore.

It was all perfect until the Wind Waker was released.

TP says no to that

And Cutflaik, MM is definately in the child timeline since the Hero of Time is a child in it, and it goes after OoT. Makes sense, right?

EDIT: Oh, and yeah, there must be a timeline.OoT is connected to TP, WW (and PH) and MM. tMC is connected to FS and FSA, which is connected to ALttP and LA, which is before Loz and AoL.

Ok, MM takes place in the child timeline about 3 months adter OOT. That works.
However WW and PH go in the adult timeline and take place 800 years after OOT. TP geos in the child timeline and is 100-200 years after OOT.

There is no single timeline in which all the games are on at once, Does everyone agree with this?

And Just becaus Link is older in TP, doesn't mean that all of his other kid adventers already happened, They just started everything over!

Re: Is there a timeline ?

^ Temple of Time, similiar map, same Ganondorf, old hero, master sword are a few examples in TP that connects it to OoT. Aonuma says I'm right

And it's not a singular timeline... it's a split timeline, meaning there's one timeline splitting into two timelines. So in that point of view, you're right.

800 and 1-200 years? From where did you get those numbers? All I've heard is "hundreds" of years.

EDIT: Gah, Prince, don't edit while I'm editing

TP doesn't follow PH. The Link in TP hasn't done anything adventurous, except wrestling goats.

Re: Is there a timeline ?

There are mini timelines made up of sequels that definitely go together. Timeline theorists just try to put them all together into one or two (sometimes more) somewhat cohesive lines.

Also, TP references OoT. The fishing guy at Hena's place. The Hero's clothes that look like OoT Adult Link's clothes.

Epona in TP isn't the same horse. They don't look the same at all. OoT Epona is smaller, has orange fur I believe, and a white mane. TP Epona is larger and definitely not mostly orange. They are different breeds of horse named the same.

Now, the stories start over because there are multiple Links. There is no one Link, and OoT Link is no more real than the others.
