7-year joyride

One of the little things that always bothered me from Ocarina of Time was that when Link awoke after his seven years of being sealed away he was wearing clothes and accessories that he was not when he drew the sword. He has tights, gloves, an undershirt, and earrings, as well as a hat, tunic, and pair of boots that are larger than the ones he went in with. Not only that, but he was stronger as well, while seven years of napping would've left his muscles atrophied.

Just today I remembered something funny about what Rauru says during that cutscene:

However, you were too young to
be the Hero of Time....
Therefore, your spirit was
sealed here for seven years.

He does not say "you were sealed here for seven years."
He says "your spirit was sealed here for seven years."

Someone or something else was in control of Link's body the whole time.
So now I have to wonder, who was it?

Hey... you're right. So if someone was controlling Link... who could it have been? Rauru himself maybe? And Link must've been in the Sacred Realm most of the time, otherwise someone in Hyrule must've recognized him afterwards. So my most intelligent guess is Rauru.

Hmm.

I never actually thought of this before.

My guess though is that he never wandered into Hyrule though.

I mean Ganondorf attacks etc. He must have realized by that time that Link possesed the ToC.

Therefor my educated guess is that he was in the SR all the time but not always in the temple. And yes Link would not have had control.

Which raises the possability of another game taking place during the time of Link's slumber, with, say, the goddesses creating a new identity for Link for the adventure.

I can't wait for Majora's Mask to come out on Vurtual Console so I can finally play it.

Um, wait a minute...we're all microanalyzing why Link is suddenly cut and badass with properly-fitting attire after seven years away, when Ganon magically changes from a man into a pig during the same game?

here's the simple explanation to it all. magic and you can try geting colecterrs adetion on ebay it has 4 games an its on the gc

Depends on... when exactly did Link get the Triforce of courage? At the moment he fell asleep (when Ganon took the Triforce), or...? The Triforce could've supplied Link with everything, just as the Triforce of Power supplied Ganondorf with power to transform into a pig.

Yeah, that's what I was pretty much saying -- folks were agonizing over Link getting all kitted up exactly to specification, when magic plays a much bigger role in far less mundane (and more important) things throughout the game.
