Navi theory
This may sound stupid and I don't know if anyone has posted anything about this before, but is it possible that when Link is looking for Navi he never found her because she was with him the whole time, is it possible that maybe Tatl or Tael are actually Navi's counterpart. Seeing as everyone from Hyrule are also in Termina, this is could be a possibility. I found It kind of odd that the skull kid had 2 fairies. I don't know if it explains much about Tatl and Tael and I forgot if they mentioned anything about in the game or not. Correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't played it in a while. I don't know much about the counterpart thing and I don't know why everyone didn't have one, but it's possible that Navi did.

Re: Navi theory
Well... Theoretically, you could be right, maybe Tatl or Teal is the counterpart of Navi.
But really, it doesn't make any difference at all, so I doubt the developers had that in mind. In the end, who can tell the fairies apart, anyway? ![]()

Re: Navi theory
Actually, I think the whole 'Termina is in an alternate universe' theory is a crock o' bull. I think Miyamato said that it was but it wasn't really intended to be used by theorists everywhere.
In my mind, Termina is just another place. |

Re: Navi theory
Why? I've never understood why some people are so opposed to Termina being an alternate world. It says so in the manual, and the creators confirmed it, so why is it not accepted? It has to be something more then just thinking Nintendo was lazy.

I think it could've been a really screwed up dream-ish manifestation of a lot of things and everything was similar but more trippy because of that. All induced by the mask. Navi? I think tatl was a manifestation of that. I think Link found Navi, but only in himself. In literal speaking though, it would've been impossible to find Navi physically there either due to it being illusion or alternate world.

Re: Navi theory
No.
The Skull kid was from Hyrule. So were Tatl and Tael. Also even if this theory works that doesn't mean that they WERE Navi. Just like the Post man isn't the running dude.

Re: Navi theory
If Tatl had been Navi, Link would have reacted similarly to the way he reacts when he see Marin in LA.

Re: Navi theory
Oh no, to the contrary, they created an alternate world, BECAUSE they were being lazy, they just didn't feel like making new character models. That and the GameCube's release was looming ever closer at the time of developing MM. However, there is no doubt in my mind that it is an alternate world, no matter how much I don't want it to be.
