Where.....

Do you think that Hyrule was intended to be on this earth when they made the game, or was it intended to be in another world? If it WAS supposed to on our planet, where would you place it?

I'd place it in dartmoor, I would just fit so nicely there...or mabye scotland

Hyrule is only a single country, but it's not on our planet. We just haven't seen the rest of theirs.

I think Hyrule was really based on Europe! You could call Germany as Hyrule. I've been too Germany in many places and really the south of Germany is a bit like Hyrule. =D

In the first game the back of the box said something like "a vry long time ago..." that would mean it was originaly meant to be in this world. Obviosly this cant be now after countless zelda's being made sometimes taken 1000's of years apart.

If it would look like any place on this Earth it would be Europe. The climate is kinda fitting, but of course there are different climates throughout Europe as well. Germany was a pretty good example, I thought I saw someone post it.

For those of us who aren't english, where is dartmoor?
I really can't think of any place that it compares to. Its kinda like LOTR, it looks similar to earth, but it doesn't really compare to anything on earth.

I remember one of the old final fantasies having links grave. That would put it in Gaia(I think). Though that was just a development joke. Honestley I doubt its our earth, maybe a parallel universe, which would make MM a parallel parallel universe.

Well it could be in New Zeland because that's where LOTR was shot and it kind of looks like that.

Yeah, It's definitely not here now. It may have originally been intended to be, but there's no way it is now, or anyway we could find out. However, if it were here, then there's no doubt in my mind that it would be in Europe.

Zelda does have quite a medievil feel...

Yes I agree with the parallel universe thing. Though MM would just be a parallel univese as well, not a parallel parallel universe because you can have more than one parallel universe existing in the same space as another that is if you believe in parallel universes. I also think the different areas in Hyrule may be based on various different countrys. But I just don't know.

HYRULE IS ATLANTIS!!! It would make sense, buth Hyrule and Atlantis sank...

You can see Orion in the night sky in Termina, so it's just a [sarcasm] simple case [/sarcasm] of working out Hyrule and Termina's geographical links and placements, then we have it!
