Epona dies

In the world of Termina there is usally a double of each person that is in Hyrule.

At the start of MM skull kid steals Epona and says "his dealt with her"
At first I thought this meant that he killed Epona but later you find Epona at Romani farm.

Its strange that you find Epona on a farm, why did skull kid take her here?

Romani doesnt give any info that Epona arrived just on the day you meet her either

What if this wasnt Epona but Eponas double that means that the original epona did die. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

What a nasty thought, I suppose it could be true, although I think Link would be able to tell the difference, you forget that the "doubles" acted different then thier counterparts, and even if it is true, I really hope it's not:disappoin

How would a horse seem to act differently, she cant speak?

Now that I think about it, it is pretty sick thinking Epona dead...

Animals, especially ones that are in close contact with humans all the time, you can tell that they act different, besides, link had the mask of truth, and could figure out for real whether or not she was a replica

Does the mask of truth work on Epona? I never tried.

Epona was in TP, so I doubt that she died. Maybe Skull Kid thought he killed her, but he didn't actually perform the deed?

There are several characters that don't have doubles in Termina.

I don't know how Epona got to the ranch, but I imagine she threw Skull Kid off and wondered around until Romani or Cremia found her.

Being a horse, she probably thought Romani was Malon, and followed her right to the ranch.

I never thought to use the Mask of Truth on Epona either.

Best reasons: That's sorta weird, don't ya think? She'd have to find a way into Termina then, you know. The path Skull Kid was on led directly to that hole, and even if she did survive the fall (Link did, so...), then she would've been in the room still. Unless, of course, she drowned in that water. Horses can't open huge wooden doors without knobs (I still don't see how Link opens them). And then she'd have to be able to fly. I seriously don't see how Epona could possibly have made it to the ranch.

Sort of good reasons: Plus, Romani already knows how to soothe the horse after having it for...One minute, at the most? I don't think so. You may say that the song may work on other horses as well, but...it didn't in OOT. I know things happen very...punctually on that game, but the idea that they'd be able to erect a good stall for this horse when they'd only found it seconds before?

She must be able to navigate the trek to Termina somehow, as she is seen with Link in the ending of the game, in the Lost Woods. Unless our original Epona was left in the woods in the first place, but I can't see this happening as Link is shown riding towards Clocktown on Epona, than on her in the Lost Woods. Logic would state they are the same.

Oh, speaking of relevant quotes:
"A small, lost horse seems to have
been taken in by Romani Ranch,
south of town..." I believe from a Gossip Stone.

So I agree with Daphnes. Epona probably thought Romani was Malon and went to her.
And if Epona was from Romani Ranch...where are the other horses? They have cows and a mule it appears for the wagon. It's odd they'd have just one colt.

We can't assume that anything is confirmed, until a developer does it for us. So don't pretend to confirm anything, without developer information, or in-game proof, please.

That quote in itself proves it. I guess I just don't pay attention to Gossip Stones as much as I should. It still raises the question of how Romani knows its name...unless she's just so much like Malon that she names it the same?

*Goes to check again * I don't think Romani ever calls Epona by name. She calls it "Romani's Horse-calling Song", and refers to Link and Epona as "you two"

The game then comments that it's Epona's Song. ( Link knows it already or has remembered, like the Song of Storms and the Song of Time )

As to how Romani knew the song, here's an idea. While the graphics and situation did not require the use of Horse Grass in OoT/MM...could it have existed both in Hyrule and Termina, possibly being the inspiration for the song composed by Malon's mother in the first place? It could explain how Romani came to learn the song, and how TP Link knows the song too.

I think it's better to say that either it's a loophole, or Skull Kid traveled with her through Clock Town before losing her. There's a theory that time travels differently in Termina, and that Skull Kid could have been through there longer than we think.

Also, the stall could have been there before Romani found Epona. I have already explained why Epona would have befriended her quickly: She's an exact copy of Malon, who Epona loves.

To Epona, if it smells like Malon and looks like Malon, it must be Malon! So when Epona sees Romani, she would immediately trot off behind her.

Romani doesn't appear to leave the ranch at any point ( in fact she even complains she wants to go to town but her sister will not take her ) so I'd guess Epona stumbled her to way to Romani Ranch and the semi-familiar feel of the place caught her attention, than she saw Romani.

its adifferent horse buddy, a horse can't live for over 100 years.

but yeah, I guess it makes sense logically that she did die, I'm not opposed but it would be nice if she didn't.
