Kokiri's human form just to suit Link?

Hey guys, I just happened upon an interesting theory that I wanted to share:

But then again, we discover in TWW that the kokiri are really little adorable wood midget fellows, and at that point I began thinking that the deku tree specifically had the kokiri become humanlooking so that Link could grow up with 'his own kind' ... and if I believe that, why shouldn't I believe he purposely dressed the kokiri in hero's clothes, complete with the pre-established hat? Mrrr...

Re: Kokiri's human form just to suit Link?

So it's basically another evidence for putting tMC, huh? Well...

It's possible, no denial. But I was thinking... If the Deku Tree ordered them to take the shape of a human (sorta) just because of Link, wouldn't the other kokiri know that it was all because of Link...? It would be a big conspiracy, because everyone knows that Link is a hylian, but himself.

However, in OoT, the other kokiri seem to think that Link is one of them. So it doesn't really make sense that they took human/hylian shape just because of Link. So I don't agree with this part, but it's just a detail. If the Deku tree chose green clothes because of the hero in tMC, well... as I said, that might be true.

On the other hand, the Great Deku Tree might've said: 'Listen up everyone, I'm giving you new forms' POOF 'there, that's better. Now here's your new brother! I, uh, changed him too'

I knew you'd say that so I'm prepared to answer:

Wouldn't the other kokiri say stuff like: "Oh, man these new forms totally suck! I wanna be able to fly again, dude... Wood is so much better than this skin-thing... Oh well, at least I can touch fire without dying"

EDIT: Oh, and Link would be all like "WTF?"

Re: Kokiri's human form just to suit Link?

A far fetched theory, to say the least. However, in terms of evolution, it's quite the opposite.

In WW, the Deku Tree stated:

The "human forms" the Deku Tree speaks of is obviously the Kokiri. So, originally, they were in fact the humanoid Kokiri we see in OOT, but became Koroks due to the flood.

So, their "true form" (or "original") is not the Korok, but the Kokiri form.

Well, the kokiri took on human forms, which means they must have had something prior to that... if it was spirits or whatever... But they weren't created as kokiri, at least.

Not really; cos Link would've been much younger at the time and simply said: 'you thay weird thtuff, gweenie peopuw! I'm gunna go chathe that wabbit!'

And the Kokiri would've been like: 'ahhh bless 'im, he's only a sapling yet'

^That got me thinking... The kokiri always stay kids... but kids grow too. So did the other kokiri start off as babies too, then grow to 7-10 something, like Link?

I think they would've kept growing if the Deku Tree hadn't died. He was probably the one keeping up the illusion.

That's not true. The Deku Tree was referencing the time from the discussion him and WW Link were having, all the way back to OOT. The phrase "'took' on" merely suggests that Deku Tree is using it in a past tense (which is obviously the case, since OOT takes hundereds of years prior to WW).

The Koroks were different in OOT from what they were in WW, so the Deku Tree tells Link of their other form that they "took on" so long ago.

Nowhere in any Zelda game does it suggest they took some sort of different form prior to their Kokiri form.

Really? Not even Picori? If TMC is first then you have:
1- little shrew-like things that wear elfish clothes and creating a hero's cap and who have a shrine in a forest and who own a magic sword evolving into:
2-little child-like things that wear elfish clothes and who mostly wear Hero's Caps and who live entirely in the forest and who own a legendary sword, and worship a tree then evolving into:
3- little wooden sprite-like things, who live in the forest and worship a tree

Even the word 'Picori' sounds like 'Kokiri'.

Try reading the previous posts, and try to back up your claims.

Meh. There isn't really enough supporting evidence to claim that the Picori evolved into Kokiris (in fact, there's no evidence whatsoever, making it nothing but fiction). The whole "Hero's Cap" thing is up for debate though; however, I will not start debating on that subect, since, it'll inevitably lead to a MC placement in the timeline (which ends up just being pointless in the long run).

My main point I'm trying to address is that there's simply lack of facts to support your theory; it's a baseless claim. For example, I could say "Gerudo's used to be Picori" and technically there's nothing that explicitly contradicts me.

Re: Kokiri's human form just to suit Link?

I think that unless stated otherwise, directly or indirectly, we should assume that the Picori are still the same as they were in The Minish Cap. They're very small creatures, and are the only real explanation for Rupees and other items being hidden in grass/bushes/rocks et cetera. Also, The Minish Cap suggests that the Minish have been around for a while, and are to remain around for a while. So I see no reason to assume they evolved into Kokiri.
