Darknuts n' Iron Knuckles

I think Darknuts are Iron Knuckles in a later age! Check it out:

Why in a later age? In AoL, they appear together.

They are similar but they are not the same.

I beleive iron knuckles may be strictly gerudo, and dark nuts are hylian.

In OoT, you see the iron knuckles only in the gerudo fortress and the dungoen in th desert collossus. In TP, you see the dark nuts in the temple of time and hyrule castle.

Actually you also see Iron Knuckles in MM, they also first appeared in AoL so they can't be Gerudo.

According to Wikipedia Iron Knuckles are an animated armor with nobody inside, whereas Darknuts have some creature inside their armor

They are both servants of Ganon, but I think Darknuts are simply better. They can move faster, and their weapons are easier for them to use. Iron Knuckles aren't worth the resources. Thusly, this is why Ganon uses them rarely. They can be very powerful, but are best used as suprise attacks. Well, that's my philosophy anyway.

the iron knuckle in mm is ununded spirit controling the armur or a powerful stall child

In WW, Darknuts are dog like creatures (although they are human like in TP) while Iron Knuckles seem to be spirits in armor.

I've only seen the Iron Knuckles in OOT+MM, so if they are different in any other games this idea may be wrong.

The differences between the IKs and Darknuts that I've seen are that the IKs use two handed weapons, axes specifically, while the DNs use single handed weapons, usually a sword, and a sheild.

But as to the idea of one becoming the other in a later age, they seem to be two different classes of knights. One could have replaced the other in use though.

My theory is that Iron Knuckles are animated suits of armor, much like the Axe Armors from Castlevania. Darknuts are guys wearing armor. Of course, there's that Nabooru thing, so maybe they're both guys in armor.

I think they are based around the same concept, but not really the same exact thing. Almost like another species of armored knight, if you will.

A Darknut is a high class knight that serves Ganon. An Iron Knuckle is somewhat like an advanced armos. It's just a machine, whereas a Darknut is a warrior.

Seconded. Remember, Wikipedia is user-edited. I could go there and say that Link is the son of the second cousin of my dog.

I have a theory that the Darknuts are an order of a knights that are of a race probably similar to the Hylians, maybe even of the same root. The similarity aspect sounds like fanon, but I believe there might be some truth to it. After all, the Darknuts in the first game are identical tpo the Iron Knuckles in AoL, who I believe are enchanted statues that protect the ancient palaces. Anyway, my theory is that they come to Hyrule prior to the return of Ganon before LoZ and came to worship as a god. And when he returned some joined his army as Darknuts.

The second part of my theory also seem a bit fanon, but remember that the Darknuts doesn't seem to serve him in any of the games prior to LoZ.

Iron Knuckles are Human.

However as we see in TWW Dark nuts apear to be some sort of dog.

Iron Knuckles are statues. The Darknuts in LoZ and TP are human. Well, at least the ones in TP. Everything is wrong in TWW.

The only similarity I see is that they're both large, have large weapons, and wear heavy armor. Other than that, they use a different style armor and different style weapon and really have no other similarity besides both being large armored humanoid creatures.
