A second temple of time?
As you know, the temple of time in TP is located nowhere near the one in OOT. Seeing how none of the other major places have changed possition (ie: Lack Hylia is still south west of the castle), it is immpossible that hyrule market and the castle were once there. The only other conclusion than is that there are two temples.
It could be possible that after OOT (seeing as how ganon knew where is was) the master sword was deemed unsafe and was moved and a new temple of time was built to house it (the adult timeline parrale of this is the sword being moved under Hyrule castle). The dungeon inside the temple was also built then. After that, due to disuse, a natual desaster, or some other reason, the temple became wrecked and decayed like it is in TP. What are your theories?

Re: A second temple of time?
I think they are the same Temple, but Hyrule just evolves over time. Not saying places move all over the map, but look at every game; Hyrule is totally different.

Re: A second temple of time?
I wouldn't be suprised. Maybe Ganondorf destroyed the one in OoT's Castletown as part of a rampage that resulted in him getting sent to the Arbiter's grounds. A new one was built and over the hundreds of years fell into disrepair.
It's probably more likely a retcon though...

Re: A second temple of time?
If we look at the powers of the Master Sword we can see it is a very strong weapon. Let us think for a moment, what exactly is stopping the Master Sword from moving and hiding its location on its own? It could have imprinted the image of the Temple of Time and took that image with it to its new location. Since the new location was deep in the forest, the image was distorted and it became ruins instead of a whole new temple. The Master Sword is all about concealment until a Hero comes along to claim it and wield it.

Re: A second temple of time?
I think it's just a retcon to connect the ToT from OoT with the Sacred Grove in ALttP. I don't think the game developers have any actual reason for it moving across the country other than that, and therefore it's pointless to try and figure out a story for it because there isn't one.

Re: A second temple of time?
I've been thinking of this for a while... When you pull the master sword ganondorf gets in the sacred realm. The temples have nothing in common except the sword being there and the chamber. In TP the ToT was the last link to the Oocca and the actual temple of time. Gannon got stoped as it says in TP then went to jail, then was to be executed, we know the rest. Perhaps the sages moved it to the Oocca temple since it was a lot safer!

Re: A second temple of time?
The thing is, The Temples of Time play a pretty important role. They weren't just simply made to house the Master Sword, they have their own individual power that makes them special. This little fact about them is why I do think that the Temple of Time could have moved itself to protect the Master Sword.

Re: A second temple of time?
I think it is the original location. The old castle and temple probably got wrecked or abandoned after the fight with Ganondorf, after which he was captured and "executed", and they built the new castle elsewhere, leaving the enigmatic temple to crumble ('cause really, who had ever been inside that temple?)

Re: A second temple of time?
So you're trying to tell me that the Castle Town (and Castle) got abandoned and they built a new one, and the only thing that remains in the woods is the Temple of Time? Seriously, no.
First off, why abondon their castle and castle town? Second, it makes much more sense to assume that the TP map is the same as OoT, even though some locations are slightly moved. The 2 games are obviously connected, so assuming geography doesn't matter is just stupid, since we keep seing the same places at the same locations. So in conclusion: They didn't abandon the old hyrule castle, they just moved the Temple of Time to the woods, probably because of Ganondorf. And I do not believe the temple moved itself... Maybe the Oocca.
