About Phantom Hourglass' World map (spoilers)

I don't have this game yet, so i don't really know much about the story or anything, just what i can find on gamefaqs. But recently the map was posted, and as this game takes place in a different part of the great sea, i was wondering wherebouts.

Looking at the map, maze island, possibly the same maze island as whats in AOL? Say the game takes place a bit north of the Great Sea we have in WW, this is quite probable to be the same island, its location is very similar.

Does anyone have any information that i don't know about? or any theories for that matter?

Lex did remark on gamefaqs that there could be similarities between AoL's Calatia and the PH world map. I'm sure someone will do an overlap of the two maps to investigate them.

Most people theorize that the King or a king hid the ToC sometime after tWW. The connection to AoL BS would be very exciting to say the least. New Adult timeline theorists beware. The evidence for the new Child timeline just went up.

Is there a reason why the map is split in two? Is it just because it will fit on two screens or is there another reason?

The word 'force' is also mentioned a lot in PH, as the life force of everyone. It sounds like an interesting game, and though i don't know the full story, from what i do know, im not expecting much timeline relevence. Completely new villain after all...though it does sound cool. And from what ive also read, possible similarities to LA. Good ol gamefaqs spoiling the game XD

The whole Northeastern quarter of the map looks suspiciously similar to the LoZ/AoL map. Isle of Ruins being the Hyrule proper, Isle of the Dead being the land where Kasuto lies, and Maze Island to the north. I'm glad at least two of my predictions are at least somewhat true, those being this information and the feature of "force".

Vice-versa. "New Child" means that the 2D games are in the Adult; "New Adult" means that they are in the Child. The northeastern map is fairly clearly influenced by the LoZ/AoL maps, so this would suggest an Adult placement of the 2D games, meaning any "new story" might be in the Child timeline.

I'm getting the impression that the game's emphasis is on spirits and/or life and death. We have the Ghost Ship, the Phantom Hourglass, the Isle of the Dead and now an apparent emphasis on "life force". This sounds to me that the original storyline comes from the choice of a completely new theme.

I'm beginning to wonder if the beast in this story is Vaati's demon, as the "Ganon" beast is to Ganondorf. Both have a monstrous hunger for force; both can take on similar forms (or so they say).

Oops, just changed it. I was wondering about that when I wrote it *counts silently on his fingers, does random multiplication tables*

All 2D games are in the Adult timeline. Once the 2D games are connected to the timeline, the 3D games will continue in the Child timeline on a completely new story. Some new stories may be introduced to the adult timeline.

Basically, the idea is that the incomplete timeline, the one lacking the 2D games, has more potential to be explored. Hence why we call it a "new" timeline.

Maze Island has huge resemblance to the one from AoL... hmmm...
I wonder, if that's really the same maze island, that means we finally get second game in northern part of AoL's Hyrule

How do you know that this area is north of the Great Sea anyway?

they do NOT know for sure, hence the theories, and they';re assuming north for the maze island looks like the same maze island from AOL, which takes place in northern hyrule. I personally agree that PH's map is a flooded northern hyrule.

PH overworld is in the ocean king realm/dimension, another diferent dimension than hyrule dimension.

and maze island is just a reference to the island from AOL,just a eastern egg.

Oh wait, the DS island makeme think that PH go in the DS chronology. LOL

maybe prehaps since the ocean kings realm is a different realm, perhaps it is flooded Termina...
