Who is the Happy Mask Salesman?

Who exactly is this guy? He only makes an appearance in OoT and MM. The sign in his shop in OoT says that he will be opening soon. In MM, he has to leave in 3 days. Is he from Termina, or Hyrule, or neither? So many questions left unanswered. Who is the Happy Mask Salesman?

1. He apeares in OoS aswell as some other games.

You do know that his shop does open up latter in OOT.

In MM,Link acts surprised as if he doesn't know who he is,but actually does because of OoT.Perhaps that is why he shows up in MM,because the Mask Salesman knows what great good Link did for Hyrule,and perhaps he could help the Mask Salesman with his problem.

Ah, but how would he know that? In the child timeline, in which Majora's Mask occurs, the adult portion of Ocarina of Time doesn't even occur! Only Link, Zelda, and the King know about the future. I think the Happy Mask Salesman turned to Link because he was the only one he could bargain with- in exchange for turning Link back to normal, he needs Majora's Mask back.

That's a relatively plain theory, but I couldn't come up.
Check the timeline, MM is in a different one than OoT...

!?! MM is a direct sequal to OoT. MM ocurs in a different timeline than TWW.

I wouldn't worry about who he is. I would worry about having to pull out my sword and make it a robbery because he wouldn't make a good deal.. which can never happen because you can't pull your sword in a shop or house. I would have been funnier than getting mugged by a bunch of chickens though.

he reminds me of the weird guy that joins the nintendo gallery in TWW.

The Happy Mask Salesman is an odd character who may or may not be a divine being. Sometimes when he moves, he instantly changes instead of moving like a normal person would. He's scrawny yet can carry a giant pack on his back, and his facial expressions are like those of masks.

Shigeru Miyamoto created Zelda, as well as Mario. Some people say they look similar, I say no. I don't think it's ever been confirmed by anyone related to Nintendo. Feel free to correct me.

The man on the left is Miyamoto. I don't see a resemblance myself.
