Is it more then just Magic Armor?
I noticed when I beat Twilight Princess with the magic armor, the movie scenes it will still show Link with it on which goes along with my arguement. Regardless if you beat the game with the armor or just wear it whenever you can see many things closely related to Link and Zelda. In Twilight Princess we all know what the Magic Armor does. But I noticed a close resemblence to Link's Magic Armor and Princess Zelda's royal dress. Lets first start off at Zelda's Crown and Link's hat while wearing the Magic Armor you notice that they closely look the same with the jewel in the center and almost similar in design..........
Now its quite obvious to notice the golden shoulder pads on both their outfits and yet again showing a similar design as well............. Lastly we look at the waist....were you have Zelda and Link having another gold design with a jewel in the center as well. Also if I might add, on the waist it shows the triforce symbol as well.......................... ...okay now going back to what i said earlier....when I beat the game with the magic armor in the movie scene at the Mirror Chamber Link and Zelda in my opinion look like a royal couple while wearing the armor. Link looks like a Prince......... I theorize that the magic armor belonged to possibly the King of Hyrule at one time (Magic Armor is red and King Daphnes' color is red as well) but with so much chaos in Hyrule castle somehow it managed to be found and was for sale in the Hyrule Castle Town Shop ...notice also how there is only one magic armor in that shop. Its one of a kind and thats precisely my point in my theory.....theres more then meets the eye with the magic armor. What do you guys think???? |

Maybe. It's not IMPOSSIBLE, but why would they put a royal armor in the game if it wouldn't play that an essential role? If it truly was the king's armor, then I guess Nintendo would give it a more important part in the game, and not just an alternative garb. The Magic Armor is the only armor you don't HAVE to use during the game, and you get to know very little about it.

Re: Is it more then just Magic Armor?
I don't think it necessarily has to be the King's armor. You buy it in the Hyrule armory and it's there before the prices drop. The similar design is intentional, simply because the dress worn by the princess is Hylian and probably expensive Hylian at that. And the Magic Armor is definitely Hylian as well, and also expensive - made for the wealthier Hylians (generals and rich warriors). The king wouldn't wear it but no doubt his garb would also have a similar style.

I don't believe there to be any connection between the magic armor and the King's Royal garb. As said it would have been more strongly hinted in my opinion, perhaps naming it 'Royal Armor' would have been more suitable?!

However, the resemblance is more simply explained by purposeful imitation of royal fashion. If this really belonged to the King, do you really think that it would eat Rupees? This suit is merely a way of avoiding damage while flaunting your enormous wealth. (Though this does tie into my odd little theory on Rupees as power source . . . )

Re: Is it more then just Magic Armor?
Precisely! Tingle is able to use Rupees to extend his lifespan according to some theories, so this is not such a stretch. If this is the case, then their weird economy is explained. Their economy does not experience inflation because they use the Rupees up for various tasks! Thus a glaring inconsistency that was dismissed as par for the course can be resolved.

I'd say it's more style than direct correlation to the royal family.
We don't even see the king. I'd say it's safe to assume he's dead. (The princess is running the kingdom when she's only like 17)

Re: Is it more then just Magic Armor?
I seem to recall the shop keeper saying it was designed or mostly worn by the royal and well to do persons in Hyrule. It seems no strech that the armor would have insignias of the royal family and of the Hyrule Kingdom in general, and the suit is only obligatory, therefore, to the time and place in which it was made.
While it is no strech to say that, given that the suit of armor was one of a kind, and it was said to be worn by royalty, it may have been worn by a prince, or even a king. Its original intent and manufacturer, however, remains a mystery, and specifics about who exactly wore it or who made it, cannot be conclusively garnered. The Magic armor is definately very princely looking: a nobleman or knight would not likely wear a crown, and the colors/crest of the Royal Family is very prominent. I'd be willing to bet it belonged to a member of the royal family at some point. Here's a thought..The Hero's Spirit: his armor appears somewhat similar in style, albeit older and he is typically associated with the castle: what if the armor had belonged to him at one point? Or maybe even a past Hero/Link because of the hat? The Hat doesn't come with the gear does it? It appears to. |

Re: Is it more then just Magic Armor?
You would need to talk to the boy who shines your shoes, before the shop reopens as Malo Mart, and then try to enter the shop. It's worthless because everything is priced above what you can ever buy in the game, but it's worth it to hear the funny descriptions of all the items.

Re: Is it more then just Magic Armor?
I assume we're just seeking too much behind it. It's merely a piece of armor, in fact.

![]() It's not improbable for it to have a history, as the Hero's Tunic and Zora Armor did. |
