Keep in mind that the King is the king hundreds of years after Ocarina of Time. He's not the king during Ocarina of Time.

anyway, the child timeline being connected to TP sounds way too confusing... what happens to the entrance to the sacred realm, which is meant to contain the triforce, which is meant to be being sealed by the master sword on the pedestal of time?

If the Sacred Realm is never entered by Ganondorf, then it won't need to be sealed shut. Problem solved.

so the entrance to the sacred realm containing the triforce is kept completely unsealed and completely unguarded, even though you can't enter it and evil which isn't necisarily ganon could appear at any time and snatch it? ummm...

It would be as sealed or as unsealed as it is in the beginning of Ocarina of Time.
