NP: How is Twilight Princess connected to Ocarina of Time?
EA: [...]Link and Zelda, however, are not the same people that appeared in Ocarina, nor are they directly related to them.
Neither of these particularly supports or refutes either interpretation (nor do they really make more or less sense in light of the confirmation), but you've got all the meaty quotes (including the non-debatable one), so you're pretty much good. The first quote basically says that TP happens at a different time period than TWW/PH (which is true in any case), and the second simply asserts that these are not the same characters from OoT, nor are they the next generation (I'm assuming that them having "no relation" is an incorrect interpretation, since applying that to Zelda, who is royalty, is rather absurd).

Re: Aonuma confirms split timeline? (again)

yea it's me, I finally figured out that AOL doesn't recieve all those confirmation emails that I've been waiting for for several months..lol Makes me feel pretty stupid.

Yes Lex, I've tried to use those quotes to persuade you before, but now that we have the latest, I'm just trying to have it all make sense and sink in.

Re: Aonuma confirms split timeline? (again)

I had, out of personal choice, been anonomous back then DP. I humbly offer no proof of any experience other than the person who stands before you now. I have no doubt that will be enough. If it is not, read my posts here, or ask me questions to test me...

by the way... Gamefaqs is becoming active again? I take that with a grain of salt, there was a reason I never joined there. First, it is drab and boring, and there is really no 'official' way to join with those of similar mind. It all was for the purpose of postulating, more than for the purpose of getting a solid foundation. Not so here... Here I have made a name for myself... however new a name.

Edit, any chance we'll get an appearance by impossibleII, TE9 and Omegadevastator? Then we could have a proper reunion...

Re: Aonuma confirms split timeline? (again)

Darken: Yes, they're Force Gems. They're also gold-colored. This looks suspiciously like a reconciliation between Force Gems (as the source of power of the Four Sword) and the Light Force (as, well, the Light Force), which would be rather pointless if the Force Gems don't really have anything to do with the story. But that's just my highly-biased opinion. Make of it what you will.

After this whole thing, you want more people to come in? I thought we'd been having a perfectly good discussion. I especially like what Silver Arrow said.

Get out while I still can? I got big plans for this place XD

I go away for 2 hours, and the thread gets 8 moe pages...

Re: Aonuma confirms split timeline? (again)

Unfortunately, TE9 has become a very, very busy guy. He simply has little to no time to devote to the timeline anymore. However, I do speak to him from time to time on AIM, and rest assured that he has been informed of the latest developments. Don't count on him ever becoming a significant part of the discussion again, though... still, his work in popularizing timeline discussion at GameFAQs cannot be emphasized enough. He will always deserve special mention in all future debate.

Impossible... good luck getting him to come here. That's all I'm gonna say. :XD

Like you've said before, they are/were Force Gems, from last year's E3. But doesn't golden triangles sound a lot like something else from the Zelda series?

The Triforce maybe, and confirmed by a more credible source, that constantly updates their site, as being such.

The info sheet I posted is from this year's GDC.

EDIT: All of the screenshots on the Nintendo site have been removed. Darn straight they update it more often. ;p

Actually, after watching the video, they're not even all gold. It looks like the screen on the info sheet just displays/ed the gold ones.

Re: Aonuma confirms split timeline? (again)

lol yes as someone already pointed out this is probably a record of some kind. Although a page or two are devoted to people whispering about LOZ and his much anticipated post.

I would like to make a congratulatory toast to all
for the past two days of discussion (raises glass)

What was I in that debate then? A spectator? I was heavily involved in the Seal War debates, hence why I constantly try and prevent them from breaking out again, since they are very wearisome and ultimately get us nowhere.

Re: Aonuma confirms split timeline? (again)

A TOAST!

There are some genious little nuggets of discussion here, in between the anger, frustration, over excitement etc...

I do wish some people would stop seeing this as some kind of ending of something, sure it's going to be a change, but this is a great development that I, among others, have long awaited.
Still....alot of work is to come of this.
