Your personal Goal in theorising?

Well, this topic has seems to be surviving without any actual lead. Shawing.

Anyway, should a mod actually happen to pass by, and should they hold the power to add polls to threads which suffered whatever error this one suffered on my posting, my choics of options were going to be:

1) To reckon Aonuma's pefect timeline while patiently awaiting the day he releases it to the public.
2) To determine a universal timeline, as free of incostincies as possible, relying on the developers as much as possible
3) To determine a universal timeline, as free of inconcistencies as possible, regardless of the developers
4) To find a timeline which I find to be creative and interesting, regardless of petty inconcistencies
5) Other

My goal in theorizing is to eventually start a Totalitarian Hyrulian Empire in which all must submit to my timeline theory and pledge allegiance to my Triforce flag. The price you pay for not submitting to my will is that your head will promptly be removed.

No, actually, I just find it fun. I don't really have a goal, it just helps me make sense of the series and enjoy it more.

Personal goal?

It used to be to dicover the true timeline. I soon came to the conclusion that there really isn't one, which lead me to develope a timeline of my own. I had a timeline that closely resembled the Wise Men's timeline (this was years ago and before I joined ZU or any Zelda community). It didn't have any of the FS titles or Oracles in it or a very good explanation to the SW (will anyone ever have one? )

Anyway I was very confident that I had found "the" timeline which I discussed with my friends (who weren't really that interested). Eventually I joined ZU and found silver arrow's and LOZ Historians timeline remarkably similar to mine. Only a lot more researched and thought out. So I've sticked with that theory ever since.

What would that make my goal then? I suppose it's still the same: Discover the best timeline possible and defend it until it's proven wrong (if it ever will be) just for the fun of it. I've never put much weight on developer intentions. Those two have been so wrong so many times! I'm beginning to lose all faith in them. To me only the games count as 100% source material. I know it's a weird way to see things but hey it's not like I'm gonna fall for any of Miyamoto's tricks again! No sir!

Basically, this allows me to show knowledge over something that doesn't matter to most people. Within any given high school in America, you're only going to have a dozen serious Zelda fans. But at a Zelda forum, you can find at least two dozen.

When I first came to ZU, I wasn't much of a Zelda fan. I was mostly into City of Villains and World of Warcraft, and I was pretty good at both. One day while searching I found ZU. Within a week of being here I stumbled upon Master of ALttP's Seal War thread.(which I was Ghost of Shadow back then.) I debated a bit, even went on AIM with him, Lex, and this other guy. From there I never really went into the whole Timeline thing. When I came back in September and early August, there was a big change, since I was inactive during much of the summer. Then the Wise Men came out, and I listened to their theories, and now I'm with them.

I don't think I have any intentional goal. Zelda Legends did come over and insulted the linearists a bit, all of them which includes me. I guess deep down I'd like to rub it in their faces if it soon turns out our timeline is correct, or at least our beliefs. I guess I'd just like there to be a timeline that can be sorted, maybe even turn the games into computer graphics movies for each.

I don't really have a personal goal. More of a goal the Wise Men have, a perfect/near perfect timeline, to help figure out what future game may possibly be.

Oh, I remember you back then! Yes, you were pretty good back then. Oh, just thought of another reason why I hang out here. Seeing as I do not have very good artistic abilities right now, it would be pointless for me to join a furry art community. So, until I can draw, I'm pretty much stuck hanging out here.

My original goal when I first began timeline discussion was to disprove that all the Zelda games took place in the same timeline, but that was way way back on gamefaqs. Over time, I started to place different games together until I eventually began supporting a timeline theory. Unhappy with the FSA-ALTTP connection, I then started messing about with the game orders, seeing if I could place ALTTP before OoT or ALTTP before FSA.

I took my ALTTP-FSA theory to ZU and decided that it was unlikely to be the correct explanation, so I settled with the Wise Men timeline. I then devoted most of my summer to disproving Lex on his various FSA theories and when that finished, we began making positive discussion and I found a structure that connected all the games within the timeline in single formation, based around the TWW-ALTTP explanation.

Now that goal is complete, my latest goal is to get all my theories (and of course those of others) on the internet as the UWM timeline video(s). With a combination of Zelda game placement and an explanation of powers, we will bring the timeline up to scratch and on record for everyone to see. This then leaves us with the task of bringing new games into the timeline.

Why I became a theorist? Well, I wanted to know others thoughs on Zelda's timeline, so I joined a forums called Zeldachrono! That was when I was known as Apeman_Straight... This was way back before the Oracle games actually MM had just came out and I knew that people would start debating about the older games... Shortly before TWW came out, I went into 'Hiding,' mainly to play TWW!

Anyway, I came back to the site and found that a flaming war(splitist coming and flooding our forums and gathering users to there side didn't help) had errupted during my time away and the Splitist had basicly destoried our following. So, I decided I would abide my time and wait until I found a zelda forum that had a great following with a nicely thoughout linear timeline!

During that time, I graduted from High School and went on to College with my then, fiance Kayla. Finally, when the waiting for TP drove me to searching again... I found a zelda fan site where they had a nicely though out theory, that I had some trouble with, they placed TMC first! But, otherwise I though I could debate there, which I soon learned otherwise. When you didn't agree with them they Gannon-Banned you and insulted your family and much other things I couldn't stand...Needless to say, I made some enemys! So I again left...

Over the summer, Kayla and I married, and October rolled around... I couldn't stand it, I had to know more about TP...So, against my judgement, I went searching again, when, low and behold, I found ZU! Now, my first couple of days here weren't great, and i nearly left! I had a run in with some of the local 4th triforce haters(which I don't believe in). This was in another page, and what I responded to a fan asking about the possiblity of there being one. I explained it to him and again found the gannonbanning I had left the other site because of.

But, I before I left I found a little area called "Timeline and other theorys" and I had found my home... These guys in the matter of two months have become what feel like close Zelda friends.

So, the goal I have for theorising? Well, I don't have one, I just want to meet other fans and show the splitist that are evil(some are good) the error of there ways....
