OoT Link and Zelda, brother and Sister, or a bunch of crap!

I would like to start this thread by saying that we are talking about the Link and Zelda from Ocarina of Time, and no other Link or Zelda, so there should be no qoutes from another game. Unless it's Twilight Princess or The Wind Waker, and then please make it applicable to this thread.

The reason I've started this thread is because I've been debating with friends on the issue of Link and Zelda being Siblings. I have yet to see proof to make me see that they are, so I turn to the Wise men and ZU forums to discuss this and see. So, with respect, lets debate this issue.

There is nothing from the game that would say so. Zelda doesn't even say it. Why would the mother abandon Link but not Zelda? He would've been a prince if they were related... it sounds like a bunch of crap.

1) No evidence.

2) Evidence from ALTTP implies two separate bloodlines.

the only way i could EVER see this working was if they pulled a starwars luke and leia kind of deal, but i don't see that happening.

It is possible. There is no proof either way. I'm not sure why the queen would want to abandon her child, though. Yes, there are two seperate bloodlines in AlttP, but by the time the events of AlttP happen, Zelda and Links blood would be long seperated, making Zelda's bloodline the royal family bloodline, and Link's the Hylian nights. Bloodlines have to come together somewhere up on the family tree.

Who knows? Maybe they are blonde haired, blue eyed fraternal twins. Link's mother left him because she was gravely wounded. It's possible that she couldn't make it to the castle in time.

Thee is no in game evidence supporting this, so I would say no. Even though they do have those two similarities.

IN OoT when Link meets Zelda for the first time she says how wierd it is that she seems to know him... My friend, uses this as the basis for his theory. I've never really understood the idea. I guess the Luke leia thing is it. He also says that Link and Zelda look to much alike, however I disagree here, I say they look alike because the graphics aren't that great.

I'll contact my friend and have him give me his arguments.

hmmmm.. interesting, that might be why the ghost Sharp thinks that Link reminds him of Zelda, in OOT. (or was it flatt the ghost)

I don't remember either of them saying Link reminds them of Zelda.

But that is in AlttP. Lets imagine Zelda is Link's sister in OoT. After the events of OoT, Zelda and Link grow up and create two seperate bloodlines: Link=Hylian Knights and Zelda=Royal Family. By the time the events of AlttP happen, the two bloodlines, although of common origin, would be sperate enough to be sufficiently distinguishable.

Why not? As long as there is no mention of the queen being alive in OoT, its possible that Link's mother was the queen.

Now I'm not supporting this theory, It doesn't really matter either way. I just believe that it is possible for a brother/sister relation between Link and Zelda.

When Link's mother died. The game said that she escaped the wars that plaiged the land...or something like that. Which could mean that she was going into hiding during this time taking the young Prince(sound retarded without something between it) Link with her. Wouldn't Links mom know Link's destiny? Wouldn't she want to get the Hero of Time away from royalty and war so he could learn what the Hero needed to defeat the Evil.

This is my friends theory on Link and Zelda, by the way, he's a splitist. His name is Luke Vanderverr, so if you know him...Commence throwing of the monkey poop!

Maybe Zelda's mother who I assume was also named Zelda (doesn't really matter if she wasn't), had the gifts of forsight and knew that having two children with the pieces of the triforce would make it easier to take advantage of. So, she seperated the children so that there wasn't aq great risk of the two coming together and having their Triforces stolen by a third (Ganon/dorf).

I doubt this is what happened though.

You really didn't given any evidence to your claim, if you want to make a came to this theory give some reasons for your thinking.

oh and for the record, I do believe that they are related and like the rest of what you guys said it would be a lot like the princess Lie and luke thing...
