question about the end of OoT and the Beginning of MM

There'd be a real simple formula to finding Saria--play Saria's Song.

Saria is a Sage so she wouldn't have any reason to leave Hyrule, and neither would the other Sages.

She needs to stay at the Forest Temple for her time. Yeah, you can just play Saria's song if you needed to talk to her, even if shes in the Sacred Realm.

It is definitely possible that the Skull Kid that Link met in the Lost Woods appeared again in Majora's Mask, but there is no reason why Link should search for him considering it was Navi who left him after his quest was done and they had built a friendship together.

Interestingly, the OoT manga had a bonus chapter (not based on the game) where Link made friends with Skull Kid before the events of OoT occurred.

Yes, but, seeing she's a Sage she'd have to be at the Forest Temple. Would Link know she's a sage, probley. Remember I said I believe her to be a better canidate for the missing friend than the Skull Kid, not that she was... I still, and more than likely always will believe that friend to be Navi.

im accually with the navi theory,but siaria doesnt go to the temple untill 7 years later.

I think though that they'd still have to remain in the temple because they are on the Death mountian together at the end of OoT. Who know's when Saria left for the Forest Temple? If you are a kid and travel to the entrance of the temple she's there... Maybe when Link returns to the past she's already entered the Temple, unknown by Link... It's a possibility that no one has shot down, I still stress that I believe it is Navi, but I also feel it "could" be Saria.
