Wind Waker Windows

Yet another little details thread from me. This one concerns the stained glass windows in TWW. Just a couple of things I've noticed, nothing major, so don't get your hopes up .

Rauru:

Well, nothing really of importance on this window, except that we now know for definate what the Hylian symbol is: the Triforce on wings.

Saria:

Again, nothing significant, although Sria looks younger and shorter than she did in OoT and the Kokiri symbol is above her.

Darunia:

Here you can see a Goron on either side of Darunia, with the Goron symbol above him.

Ruto:

The Zora symbol is above Ruto.

Impa:

This is where things get weird. Look at the Sheikah symbol above Impa. It only has one eyelash, instead of three. Now, I've always thought that the three triangular eyelashes on the Sheikah symbol symbolized the three parts of the Triforce. So why is there only one eyelash here? What did the Sheikah do that made them change their symbol? This will forever remain a mystery, since there is no information about why this might have happened.

Nabooru:

There is also something weird about the Gerudo symbol here. I can't really explain it, so I'll just post an image of how it should look like:

See how the window Gerudo symbol is weird? I really can't explain the difference, but just look at the images and you'll see it.

Ganon:

Here, Ganon is depicted as he was in OoT, with two swords and big upwards pointing tusks. This window depicts Ganon sealed away, yet we know from OoT's ending that it was GanonDORF that was sealed away, not Ganon, so the public version of the Hero of Time's tale was slightly inaccurate.

Triforce:

Nothing special, just the Triforce.

So why are there inaccuracies in these windows? Why has the Sheikah symbol only got one eyelash? Why has the Gerudo symbol changed? Why is it Ganon, instead of Ganondorf being depicted as sealed away? We may never know the answers to these questions, but we can theorize about them. I think the reason for the one eye-lashed Sheikah symbol is because the Sheikahs may have started believing in either Power, Wisdom or Courage more than the others, so they changed their symbol to show only one piece of the Triforce.

My theory is unlikely, but hey! We don't have anything to go off, so it's plausible. Let me hear why you think the symbols for Sheikah and Gerudo changed. Let the theorizing begin!

Re: Wind Waker Windows

I think that the windows are all deliberately meant to be simplistic versions of the true Sages and their symbols, to show that the legends have faded over time perhaps.

I think the window with Ganon in depicts the flood- you can see water around him.

Impossible. How can windows be made and fitted into a castle that's underwater, and it's very existance is practically unknown? The Hylians wouldn't of had time to make a window for Hyrule Castle, when the world is flooding around them. It can't depict the flood, since it is impossible for it to do so.

In that case I assume that the developers overlooked that fact, since it clearly shows lots of water.

Anyway, this is actually a good discovery.

Heh. Developers forgot that to place window in underwater castle, one must have diving equipment, which doesn't exist in Zelda. Either that, or the Zoras did it, but then there's that barrier around the castle...

What's a good discovery?

Re: Wind Waker Windows

Why is the master sword in the castle anyway?

I think for the most part they are just mistakes. And Ganon was sealed away, and he became Ganondorf when he got inside.

That's one of the things I'm hoping that TP will clear up.

Look at the sky in both the Ganon window and the Triforce window. Clearly the sky is gold, a trademark of the Golden Land.

Because there's water in the Golden Land, too, you know.

Re: Wind Waker Windows

As for the Shiekah symbol losing 2 eyelashes... I think it's because the Shiekah are born to live a life serving the Royal Family who (after OoT) possess the Triforce of Wisdom. Since the Triforces of Power and Courage were of no more importance, two eyelashes are lost.

That's actually a pretty good theory. I might have to steal it (joking ).

I don't think they're flaws. Nintendo wouldn't let something like the abnormal Sheikah symbol go into the final game without a reason, so I'd wager it'll be explained in TP, along with how the Master Sword got into Hyrule Castle.

Well, taking their past record into account...

Well, have Nintendo ever made it easy for timeline theorists? Have they ever particularly cared about the mistakes, problems and mysteries in the timeline, or even in a single game?
