Three timeline questions that you would ask Aonouma...

I honestly have no idea when the next big Aonouma interview will be, but it might be worth talking to someone like TSA (politely) to get some timeline questions answered from the main man himself if an interview comes to fruition. Of course from past experience, we know that any questions relating to the further development of the series will not be answered. Therefore, we need to ask questions that relate to aspects of the timeline that have already been established.

I put forward:

1) Do the events of Ocarina of Time represent the events of the Seal War/Imprisoning War?

2) Do Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures still go at the beginning of the timeline?

3) At the end of Ocarina of Time, what scene are we actually meant to be witnessing when Link meets Zelda for the final time? Does the event take place before or after she escapes Hyrule Castle with Impa?

(As a subsidiary question: Did Vaati die at the end of The Minish Cap? How does he become a Wind Mage in Four Swords?)

Re: Three timeline questions that you would ask Aonouma...

Where I actually able to have a long discussion with the developers;
1) Why tWW?
It changed the nature of OOT's ending, the nature of OOT's connection with AlttP, and the nature of the entire world of Hyrule. Still, it was not he greatest story a Zelda game had ever seen. Why did you choose it?
2) Why FSA?
There were elements in this game which could have made everything better. It could have replaced OOT as the SW and linked the flooded Hyrule to a new world, why couldn't you follow through on your connections?
3) Why continue jumping around?
Up until tWW broke the system, the Zelda releases followed an excelent patern of release. Nothing like that exists any longer... why not?

Of course, those aren't easy things to answer, and would not really help us in the first place. I just wopuldn't trust Aonuma to be hinest with me on more general questions. To date, he has always talked more about development than final product.

That is rather an aggressive position to take and I certainly wouldn't expect anyone to dare ask such questions. I'm being serious here, are there three good questions that perhaps I haven't come up with that we could just possibly get Aonouma to answer?

PS: TWW explains why the Hylian civilisation disappeared before the SW. FSA explains the nature of how Ganon can spread the Dark World to Hyrule (my opinion). The only real inconsistency that has been established is the absence of the Gerudos in TWW.

Heh, if it did then it would only strengthen the Linear Timeline Theroy, namely ours.

I would be shocked beyound all belief if they were before OoT. But it really seems unlikly given the evidence that has proven it not to be so. However Anouma only quoted that FS was the oldest LoZ. How that relates to the timeline, we can't be to sure that the quote was refering to the timeline era that ALttP was in or the closure to the timeline era of OoT. It is an interesting concept to debate I might add.

Heh, its the mechanics of how it is all suppose to work out for either the Linear Timeline or Split Timeline theroy to base off of. There is NO real explanation for this process and Nintendo will NEVER go into the mathmatics of how it all works out. But I know of some recent interview eveidence that kind of answers the question here and it does not go over the technicalities of this.

Vaati died at the end of TMC I believe. However it is debatable that he got sealed into the FS at the end and then a shrine was made for the blade afterwards. But the FS prologue speaks of a FS LoZ that does not quite match up to the TMC stroyline. SO this may be an unkown LoZ where Vaati was revived and then sealed away then instead of in TMC.

Either way you look at it. Vaati probably becomes a Wind Mage by some unkown reason yet to be touched basis on. Perhaps it was the power of the Light Force that made him carry that title. Who knows really.

To put it simply, I would just ask him ONE question:

"Can you just tell us the damn timeline already!"

This is just to confirm Aonouma's intentions of where the timeline is headed right now. I think it's important to properly establish the placement of the FS saga in the timeline and these two questions are the best way of doing it. So far, the FS saga is very open ended.

Do you have a link to this interview that I can look at?

The question is just there to clear up the inconsistency.

Aonouma only ever explains specific timeline details, never the general series of events. Hence, I have chosen three specific questions that do not cover events that have not yet been decided by the developers.

I'd ask:

1) Is OoT the Seal War?

2) Is the timeline linear or split?

3) Can I have your autograph?

It is quite classified and I think you know of it from Lion Harted. I will PM it to you later if Lion Harted does not mind that is.

ZeldaGaner21, you know better than that.

You didn't provide a link to the Aonouma interview I noticed, so I presume that you don't know where it is.

Could you at least tell me if Link's purpose for meeting Zelda is explained?

You've seen the interviews before. They're the ones that splitists use as support for a split timeline (the two-ending interview). A few wordings that splitists conveniently overlooked, along with a second similar interview confirming our interpretation of those wordings, demonstrate that the interview actually, in fact, confirms a single continuity, with two endings to OoT at different "points" (wording used in the GameSpot interview), in different "time periods" (wording used in the NP interview) along that same continuity.

Anyway, my questions for Nintendo:
1) Will we ever get glimpses of Hyrule before OoT?
2) What happens to Ganon after FSA?
3) What happens between OoT and TP?

Okay, I'm just interested to know what is actually meant to be said in that ending scene.

Re: Three timeline questions that you would ask Aonouma...

Link: *walks up to Zelda*
Zelda: ...
Link: Well, excuuuuse me, Princess.
Zelda: ...
Link: What, no comment? You're not Zelda; you're an imposter!!

It's possible that the Zelda we see in the ending scene is just a decoy. I mean, she's already fled the palace, given the fact that Link already has his Triforce. It's not too farfetched, and it would certainly explain why we see no Triforce mark on Zelda's hand, even though Link has his.

Young Link doesn't have the Triforce mark on his hand in that ending scene. I specifically went on youtube to look for it and he didn't have it.

Yes, he does. I beat the game a week ago. It might only exist on the gold version, but he does. If he doesn't then it's possible he just went further back in time at the end of the game than we thought.

My mistake. You're completely correct, the Triforce piece is in Link's possession.

1. Do you like timeline theorists and their work?

2. Double or single timeline

3. Could you possibly show Labrynna's and Holodrum's location compared to Hyrule (i.e, a large world map)
