LoZ after ALttP??

I was checking out the Zelda website at www.zelda.com and started clicking on the various games and reading the descriptions... if you click on LoZ it says:

<i>Ganon, the King of Evil, breaks free from the <b>Dark World</b> and captures Hyrule's beloved Princess Zelda. Before she is caught, Zelda manages to shatter the Triforce of Wisdom and scatter its eight pieces throughout Hyrule. Link swears to recover the Triforce pieces and rescue Princess Zelda from Ganon's clutches. </i>

If this has already been disproved... then ignore it... I just thought it'd be an intresting tid bit

Well...I'm not sure how "cannon" theorists regard zelda.com to be, but that's not particularly shocking. Most theorists put LoZ after AlttP anyway...

You'll be hard pressed to find a theorist who does not place LoZ after AlttP. That is the official stance, and has been for over a decade.

Yeah, it's been known for a while that LoZ is after ALttP. Ever since ALttP's release in fact! It says so on the back of the original ALttP box.

You've all ignored the point that TC brought up. The quote said that Ganon was revived from the Dark World. I think this is wrong but it needs to be said.

That was my original clue as to LoZ being after ALttP, but now I've got concrete evidence which proves this. ALttP is the only game that can explain how the Triforce gets to Hyrule, so it has to be before the Oracles, LoZ, and AoL.

^Unless you imagine extra events between tWW and AlttP in which the Triforce again leaves the SR and then again returns. Unfortunately, there area number of theorists who do just that...

You're not talking about the people who say that there's another Seal War between FSA and ALttP, are you? Well, even if that's how they've got their Seal War set up (so that it matches the Seal War spoken of in ALttP's manual) the Triforce never leaves the Golden Land. Ganon couldn't find his way out of the Golden Land, but his cloud of evil power could. The Knights of Hyrule defended the Seven Sages from that cloud until the seal could be cast that would trap the darkness inside the Golden Land. They might not have even known about Ganon during the Seal War, which seems to be hinted towards. It's more like defending Hyrule from the evil power emanating from the Golden Land. It wasn't until later, it seems, that they learn of Ganon being the cause of it.

Correction. The Sages and their descendants knew the cause of the evil but the general people didn't know what had caused it.

At the time of the war, the people don't seem to know about Ganon. We don't hear anything about Ganon himself taking part in the war, so it leads me to believe that the people later found out that he was the cause and then they adjusted the written documents accordingly. I'm not saying that they found out about him centuries later, I'm saying that they found out about him within a few years of the war.

I would have assumed that at the time of sealing itself that the Sages would have found out exactly what they were sealing away. This is not to say the Hyrulean people were then told about what was sealed away. It sounds like the details about Ganon were kept secret from them.

It's not official. Nintendo admitted that it was a mistranslation. I have several timeline theories, and in one of them LoZ and AoL are before OoT. One reason I made that theory is to show people that much of what they claim is official isn't.

Yeah well, apparantly Nintendo had always planned ALttP as a prequel to LoZ and AoL. I don't remember who said that, but I know it was said.

Have you read the back of ALttP game box? You should it will help you a lot.

The Japanese box of ALttP says the same thing (in essence). The Japanese box, unlike the American one, can be used as proof, since it doesn't go through localization.

My copy of LA: DX says that Link was from OoT. I never use box art for timeline evidence if I can help it.
