Re: An outsider's timeline

Lolz, I've explained why FSA can't come after AlttP many time. Doesn't stop jhurvid. Trust me.

I don't see what you mean by explained. You've told me time was rewound and expected to just drop it on there. I'm trying to point out the implication of such a reversal.

Why would I do that? Because Lionheart has said that he beleive multiple timelines to be an impossibility. If I can show that MM, in fact, has multiple timelines, we'll be past that little roadblock and discussion of OOT can continue.

I believe a multiple timeline, in the way your theorists try to use it, is an impossibility, since it erases the very means of a character's coming-into-being from the spectrum.

Multiple timelines are a possibility, as my latest OoT theory embraces. Just not in the way you serve them. In order for an event to happen, it must exist somewhere in the present spectrum. The split timeline theory that GameFAQs proposes does not allow for this. Within the MM Link reality, no MM Link should exist.

Re: An outsider's timeline

Right. We disagree on that. Probably always will.
*sigh*

I still stand by my observations from MM.
Deku Link preforms action on top of the clock tower.
Full-power Link preforms action on the top of clocktower.
These action do not take place in the same "reality spectrum", or the Links would see each other.
Without the Deku's reality, Link can not be at full power.
Full-power Link's reality is the true reality. It is the future.
Deku Link's reality is proven to exist.
Full-power Link's reality is proven to exist.
Both realities exist.
There are 2 timelines.

Whatev. I give up, I agree to disagree.
Well then... let's talk about geography...

Nope.

Link "starts over" Termina, but somehow preserves himself (actually, the Goddess of Time is probably responsible for this). He doesn't go on to Disc 2 or reality, as you seem to suggest. You're diverging from the canon, which says that it "started over."

Re: An outsider's timeline

You want to keep at it? Fine with me. Got nothing better to do tonight... *sigh*...

If I'm an outside observer, moving with Link as he heads towards Termina for the first time, what do I see as he walks out of the clocktower? He is a little Deku, not an item to his name, he walks out of the door and...???

You'd get rewound, too. So... depends on the playthrough.

And who says he can't transform in the middle of the street? Superman does it all the time. I mean, we passed weird when we got the concept of transforming masks in the first place...

And then he reverts to whatever form he would have been in upon going back in time during the current day period.

Re: An outsider's timeline

Wow, my post dissapeared. I'm thinking that that was some action on the mod's part. Thanks for keeping things clean Lozzie.

Anyway, that's right. Whatever the current period would bring, that's what he would become.

It me be that he's a Deku, new to Termina and totally confused.
It may be that he's a Goron, knowing the truth of his mission, yet lacking horse.
It may be that he's a Zora, frusterated by the injustices skull kid has visted on this world
It may be that he's a boy, who will never be quite the same after his experiences in Ikana Canyon.

You don't know until you open the door. Do you?

Re: An outsider's timeline

But wouldn't it have to be, when he opened the door, that it would be the last time for him. Three nights from now he will fight Majora, amd, when the moon is stopped, have no reason to warp back. Any other form of Link would have to be over ridden by his former self.
So you have to be expecting to see this final Link.

But wouldn't it have to be, when he opened the door, that he would be that Zora Link, fresh out of Great Bay? Afterall, before that final Link can show up, Link has to face the Stone Tower. He hasn't done that yet...
So you have to be expecting to see Zora Link.

But wouldn't it have to be, when he opened the door, that he would be that Goron Link, goht's remains in hand? You know he hasn't been to Great Bay yet. He can't have been as he hasn't yet learned Epona's Song.
So you have to be expecting to see Goron Link.

But wouldn't it have to be, when he opened the door, that he would be Deku Link, in Termina for the first time? How can it be anyone else? Link hasn't started adventuring yet, he doesn't even have his Ocarina. He has to get to work. He only has three days...
Soyou have to be expecting to see Deku Link.

Help me out here...

I doubt that is possible. One reason is how come we don't see Goron Link, Zora Link, etc again? Help me out here...

I'll make a diagram of how I interpret his theory.
