But
PH never says that "Cobble" is a race of its own. As far as the game ever tells us, it's just a kingdom. The Cobble Kingdom could be a race of Hylians or Gerudo for all we know.
Furthermore,
PH never says that Zauz was a member of the Cobble Kingdom. Granted, the evidence certainly allows that possibility, but all we really know about Zauz is that his ancestors forged their own weapons, fought in epic battles, and served to defend the Ocean King. None of the times that the Cobble Kingdom is mentioned in the game are they ever paired with any of these details. We're told that the Cobble Kingdom was "cultured" and "glorious" before they simply vanished from history, and we're also told that some of the people of the kingdom have supernatural abilities that may increase after they die. But that descriptor fits Hylians and could fit Gerudo as well.
Besides, if the kingdom was so "cultured" and "glorious", would it make sense for them to be the same people who forged weapons to be used in epic battles in defense of the Ocean King? Would a kingdom so involved in these epic battles simply vanish from history, or would their disappearance actually be remembered (unlike the Cobble Kingdom)?
Plus, when asked about how to make a Phantom Sword, Zauz tells Link and Ciela that the Ocean King gave the three metals to "three tribes". He goes on to guess that "The three tribes must have passed these treasures down over generations." We later learn that the Cobble Kingdom is one of these three tribes. So if Zauz was one of them, why would he refer to it so informally and so removed from it? And why would he have to guess that they had passed down the metals over generations?
It's possible that Zauz is a member of the Cobble Kingdom, but it doesn't seem terribly likely, and even if he is, that doesn't preclude him from potentially being a Gerudo.
