If Ikana had a transformation mask...

I realize that the transformation masks were more based off of the races than the regions, but what do you feel would have made the coolest transformation mask for navigating Ikana? Or maybe they could have made it to be harder to navigate in any of Link's other forms to accommodate the new transformation (i.e. the way you had to get to some places in Snowpeak by rolling, or hop across the water in Woodfall, what would this mask be able to do that would be useful?)

I guess Ikana sort of got masks like the Gibido and Captain, though.

Though a Garo or something would have been cool, I think I'd like to see a soldier of Ikana--either skilled in things Link isn't or he's been in some sort of ghost or stalfos form for so long that that's what the mask turns Link into. Now THAT would have been a disturbing first transformation.

Well, if one of the masks of Ikana would have turned him into a undead warrior, I think his future self from TP as the Hero's Shade would have been fitting for this. Still, it would make all other NPCs, which are not undead, to run away in terror.

It would be a Garo or a Zombie. But that would scare the people of Termina and they will attack you. Like the dog does if your Deku Link.

That could be a good thing, potentially. After all, some places are blocked by people and whatnot.

However, I'm not sure EVERYONE would be scared off. Termina's residents seem to have a pretty high tolerance for weirdness (like how you can transform in front of them but not the Hylians in TP--granted, they don't seem to notice at all). Maybe it would only scare off those who flee on the third night? That might have been neat.

If it's an undead warrior, I would think the transformation will be in the flesh in his prime for the same reason we don't have Darmani's scar or his ghostly figure as Goron Link. So if the warrior was a historical figure, it can make things interesting in Clock Town to see if anyone would recognize him to learn more of his background (Mask Salesman would certainly have something to say). And Pamela's dad.

Well, again it doesn't HAVE to be an undead warrior. Like I mentioned in the initial post, though, is that maybe said soldier has been undead for so long (like most of Ikana's residents) that his current, ghastly form feels like his true form to himself, or he's forgotten his corporeal one.

Still, either way would be interesting.

Well since in MM, you only got a transforming mask when one of the other races died, I believe it should be the same thing, maybe when you defeat the king stalfos in Ikana that would be a good time to get a mask to turn into one of them. I think it's a good Idea.

God, I'd LOVE a Stalfos mask. I picture being able to take each piece of your body apart and throw it, like a bunch of boomerangs. i.e. first your foot, then your other foot, then your leg, etc.
I'd have so much fun.
Although a Garo would also be neat. We might be able to find out more about them if we had a transformation mask for them.

In my paltry opinion, I'd side with a stalfos transformation since it seems like the "race" of Ikana seems to be just that. The King'd be a very interesting body to inhabit.

What about a ghost transformation? Being able to phase through objects and float around.

Undead transformation wouldn't really make sense. The other masks let be become the race of an already dead creature. Surely if you got a mask of say the king it would transform you to whatever he was when he was alive? Although that is an interesting question. What exactly are the Ikana? I would point out that Igos du Ikana and Stalchildren both have a protruding snout not seen in normal Stalfos. Perhaps they weren't Hylian/Human when they were alive but a different race entirely? I'll even go a bit extreme here and suggest they're the Mogma that have gone extinct. Stalchildren are good burrowers and have stubby legs. Would explain why they appear to actually be adult soldiers and not real children in Majora's Mask.

On that note, Riom [do you mind if I call you that? I like giving people nicknames], the Stalchildren actually get bigger as the night goes on; so they definately aren't just children.

They do not get bigger because of the night. They get bigger the more you defeat. Probably the bones of the defeated form a bigger one. Unless it works diferent in MM

I already addressed the things you're asking about at least a couple of times in this thread. But really? Logic? Applied to Majora's Mask? =P Even the series as a whole to some extent sometimes forgoes logic in favor of things that would be cool or fitting to the story/gameplay. I appreciate your theorizing, though.

What's the point of being in the theorizing section if your attitude is just "it's the way it is, why apply logic?"

Calm down, I was joking; like I said, I actually offered a bit of an explanation myself. I'm just saying that if you need every last little thing to make perfect sense, you'd be forsaking a lot of neat things in the games themselves and in the fandom.

I think it would've been cool to transform into a Garo, and you could glide a short distance. Perhaps you could move faster and take less damage from falling as well. It would definitely make it easier to navigate the Stone Tower Temple.

I think it would have been cool if the Gibdo mask turned you into one, you use the scream to freeze enemies and then you bite them but you would be slow though, an Ikana warrior also would have been a cool one but it have to be able to have a certain power otherwise its same as Link with the sword and shield.

If there was a Gibdo transformation mask I'd never sleep again.

I think such an instance would turn out much like the Fierce Deity mask and wreak havoc... You know what I mean? Because said creature is already dead, Link wouldn't take the form of the mask, rather the mask would take form of Link.
