Hyrule Historia Thread: Part II (translations by ShiKage)

Thread for it is here on ZI: Hyrule Historia Translations | Zelda Informer Forums

Confirms a lot of things such as the Triforce being in the hands of the Royal Family after Twilight Princess, Oracle of Seasons taking place before Oracle of Ages, and as expected fleshing out some of the backstories featured in the series.

Re: Hyrule Historia Thread: Part II (translations by ShiKage)

I always loved the character of Rauru and this just makes me love him all the more!

From how it is described he singlehandedly turned the tides of the greedy who lusted after the Triforce, built the Temple of Time (Whether he built it or refurbished the Sealed Grounds is a matter of debate), and sealed the Sacred Realm with the Master Sword, which he would know could only be wielded by a chosen hero. Then to further increase the powers of the seal he created the spiritual stones and gave them to each of the non-Hylian races.

That part is the most interesting to me. That means he did not trust his fellow Hylian to keep the Spiritual Stones safe and it's clear his intent was to never have the Sacred Realm opened again if he went that far to seal it. What a trooper.

So, OoX Link and LA Link are confirmed to be the same, and OoX Link had saved Hyrule before which means he is almost DEFINITELY ALttP Link...

Anyone want to post that Link-meets-Zelda quote from OoX again? I need to twist it in my mind to a way that almost makes sense...

@The Wind Fish: It ain't gonna be released overseas. Sad, sad, truth, but Nintendo doesn't really care much for guidebooks or artbooks.

Part of me wants to ask UDON if they could do it, but the thing is, the only art and guidebooks they've released so far were ones licensed by Capcom. I doubt they'll want to do it, especially after they once said that "Publishing for Nintendo is a very difficult thing to do."

The Orcale from the previous game will pretend to not be acquainted with you in a linked game. It's just bad writing.

To me that doesn't sound like reconstruction.

People abandon old settlement, area becomes engulfed by the ever growing forest. Lost Woods is expanded a great deal.

But really, the differences in the geography is largely due to retcon.

The art pages themselves are still worth it. That's why I purchase artbooks.

Still waiting for scans and translations on the LA pages, has anyone gotten to those yet?

There's a lot of time--and a couple legends--between the Skyward Sword ending and the Unification War. For all we know, the Sealed Temple was long gone by the time the Unification War started. After all, he built it around the entrance to the sacred realm; or the Master Sword pedestal.

You mean the art parts of it? Yes. All it is, is a bunch of sketches of dungeon layouts. LA only takes up a single page which sucks and there's nothing really on it whatsoever

If that's true, then why did the devs have to make all those connections to the ToT (Eldin Volcano behind the Sealed Temple, the huge door that looks almost exactly like the Door of Time, the inner appearance of the ST)? Seemed like they were just screwing with us.

To me it looks like there isn't anything in the center of Hyrule at all.

Re: Hyrule Historia Thread: Part II (translations by ShiKage)

That's because there's an obvious cloud cover. And because it's a map that only shows the relevant locations that Link goes to.

I think SS's map can perfectly align to OoT's map, if both maps are tilted in a way. I can try to Photoshop an example.

Re: Hyrule Historia Thread: Part II (translations by ShiKage)

The word they use for "center" is [中心地], and [心地] is translated to something like "comfort ground" kind of like a place of comfort (and when I look at it, though, it looks like Heart-Land). So, to me, its like saying right where they were comfortable putting the capital of Hyrule; and not in the literal center.

Is Beno on now? What say you, Ricecake?
