Are You Glad The Timeline Was Revealed?

I'm personally glad that it was. The timeline theorizing on this forum honestly bugged me. Members acted elitist and sneared other members if their timeline didn't match up with theirs. I'm glad that some members are butthurt because they weren't right in regards to the timeline, they deserve it.

Yes and no. I kinda like that they released it, but my main problem with it is that the third branch is created by the HoT failing. What kind of explanation is that? "What if the HoT failed?" I really wish they would've come up with an actual reason that's in game.

Hell yes! I'm happy that the timeline has been revealed.

In a way, both yes and no.

Yes because it sorta ends the whole timeline debate that has been going on for years.

And no because I actually like seeing how creative some Zelda theorists are with their own timelines theories.

Even though I was right (this is going to be a theme today, trust me), I think it might have been premature for them to release the timeline.

I am actually disappointed with Nintendo for revealing the timeline. This is not about me not having the right timeline, for in essence, timeline theorizing has always been more than just the attempt to find the order of the games; it was the joint efforts by people from all around the world creating a vast and rich community where that was the most important thing. It was also the joy found in digging deep into the games we all love to play that was what really mattered.

This book was written many months ago awaiting publication. Only in October did Aonuma say he had no plans ever to release an official timeline wanting to leave it up to fans.

This book is him lying.

I am not glad.

Sure, some theorists were elitist bastards who poo pooed anything not their own, but not all.. The majority of us were eager to hear new theories, weigh them on their own merits, and enjoy the hobby and lore.

Now this is ruined.

I like the fact that everyone was wrong about something.

Of course, people are still going to continue with their own timelines. But I'm glad that I got out of this whole timeline guessing business while I still could.

I hope they don't release a timeline when new games come out. I say they should just continue with the games, and wait until the 50th Anniversary to release another. Then my kids and their friends can argue about it!

It will be much easier to figure out where each new game is placed though.

We know of at leat 2 more Zelda games coming within the next 3 years.
Therefore, the book won'thave them. Therefore we will have to use all of our cunning and theorizing skills to place them. Because let's face it, devekoers can't be counted on for squat when answers are involved.

No because I would have preferred the Book of Mudora motif I brought up a few months back, but only after the VERY LAST ZELDA GAME EVER was released.

And yes because I wanted proof that ALttP took place in Old Hyrule. I got it. ^_^

The serie had been going on for 25 years. Revealing the timeline is in no way premature, best things gotta have an end, and it's no like no more games are coming.

I'm very happy they revealed it, and the Downfall Timeline beat every of my expectations.

I was hoping for a split at SS to house the FSS, but this works too.

Although I could actually care less for a timeline, I'm glad because it makes the series look organized.

I can honestly say, I very very glad it got released. Now I can finnaly lean back and enjoy the games without breaking my brain.

Considering a line is defined by two points, you could say the timeline appeared with AoL.
