Hyrule Army

I have wondered why the King of Hyrule has an Army? with Soldiers and etc.

I thought about what if they fought the Zoras, Gorons, Gerudos etc. Well the only one of those three that actually have an Military of any kind are the Gerudos. Wouldn't it be neat if Link had an adventure that had to go from Hyrule to another land of some sort. With another castle, and all that what not? There was also Termina from MM but it was another dimension. Which brings up the idea of Hyrule being its own dimension and all other lands outside of it are also their own dimensions.

What if Ganon or Vaati or someone evil decided to use their evil power to bring the two dimensions together? Causing some kind of panic and Link would have to get help from somebody like the sages in order to separate the two lands again?

It's called the Civil Wars that took place roughly a decade before OoT. Everyone was fighting over the entrance to the SR.

Oh that's right. I totally forgot that's how Link got to the Kokiri Forest. His mother entering the forest and asking the Great Deku Tree to raise him and such.

There's nothing backing the idea that it was a civil war and there's nothing backing the idea that was over the enterance to the Sacred Realm.

Well it's been a while since I have played Ocarina of Time I do remember at the start of the game when the Great Deku Tree is talking to you. He said something about a war over the Sacred Realm, but that's just what I can remember. I would have to replay the first little bit of Ocarina of Time to be sure. (Probably going to for OoT 3DS.)

Volcan's right. Now there was a fight over the Triforce/Sacred Realm, but that happened a LONG time before OoT, back when the interlopers first came to Hyrule. The fierce war that unified Hyrule just a few years before OoT had nothing to do with the Triforce, and there's no direct evidence that it was a civil war either (though because Hyrule was unified as a result of the war, there exists a little circumstantial evidence that it might have been a civil war).

I wouldn't even call what they have an army. They're not exactly organized, defensively speaking.

Not only did you make me realize I had a error in my grammar but you raise a good point. All they had was a fortress and it wasn't that impressive if you consider it something you're going to either rely on to save your life from an army or if you are part of the army going to attack it.

Although they are women. Can't exactly hit a girl if you're a man, and Hyrule doesn't exactly have an army of women.

The Zora's are shown to have an army in TP, it just wasn't shown in OoT, you know, with almost every non-hylian having the same model and all.

As for the Gorons, well, pretty much every Goron could be part of their army. They don't even need to stand up to fight a war, their enemies would have to fight them uphill.

Wouldn't be much of a fight, but everyone is Hyrule tends to get along so long as Ganon doesn't mess with anything.

The same reason every country has an army: to protect its citizens, and important people(such as the royal family, and in ALttP, the sages)

The Zora and Gorons do have guards who are not afraid to fight if they have to, so I would assume that they have a military as well.

Kinda sounds like ALttP and TP, if you ask me. In ALttP, Ganon was trying to break free from the Dark World(which the sages sealed him in), and would have presumably turned to Light World into a Dark World as well.

In TP, Zant/Ganondorf was trying to "merge light and shadow"(Light World and Twilight Realm) to create darkness. He got help(in the form of advice) from the sages to keep the Twilight Realm and Light World separate.

Hyrulean = Hylian. And almost all races in Hyrule speak Hylian. There are a few that speak their own races. Hell, monkeys and trees speak Hylian.

I would say Dark tongue could also be a separate language.
