Could the original NES Zelda come BEFORE Ocarina of Time?!

NOTE I'm not 100% Sure on what the dialouge for the Running Man is but here goes:

ALSO if this is lame and must be locked cuz its so lame go ahead and do that.

Okay so yesterday I was looking at some topic on ZU about pyramids and ancient Hyrule (Lots of speculation! - Pre-history Hyrule = ancient Egypt <thats the thread) and the first picture I saw something.

http://i.imgur.com/F2pQK.jpg

I don't know what the heck that picture is from but if you look at the top it has a rabbit with abnormally long ears.

http://zelda.neoseeker.com/w/i/zelda...Pols_voice.png

just like the pols voice.

And does anybody remember what The Running Man said when you gave him the bunny hood?

He said (remember this is all from my memory) something about how RABBITS with HUGE EARS roamed ANCIENT Hyrule?

Could these Pols Voices be these Ancient rabbits? Big possible yes I think.

So could most time-lines be wrong?

Could Ocarina of Time not be the first? Heck, what if Skyward Sword isn't the first? (we all know its before OoT but is it the first?)

What do you think? And please no stupid answers, please.

Re: Could the original NES Zelda come BEFORE Ocarina of Time?!

The Running Man seems to consider rabbits some sort of legendary creature but there's a dude in Castle Town who mentions there's a crazy guy who chases rabbits all day.

I'd wager they're not as rare or significant as the Running Man would have you believe.

Re: Could the original NES Zelda come BEFORE Ocarina of Time?!

How do we know there aren't Pols Voice in the world of Ocarina of Time independent of the original game? Also, the connection between the Running Man and rabbits is leg strength and speed, and the Pols Voice have neither.

Re: Could the original NES Zelda come BEFORE Ocarina of Time?!

Miyamoto has said OoT-ALttP-LoZ in 1999.
Aonuma has said LoZ is after OoT in 2009.

LoZ is not before OoT. Period.

I seriously doubt that it comes before OOT, since ya know, Nintendo has said that it doesn't.

Nintendo also said that there was no timeline for the Zelda series. but recently they did say that there indeed is a master timeline for Zelda.

My point?

Nintendo can retract statements or screw up or whatever the heck you wanna call it. They aren't always right and they change their mind. Perhaps they changed their mind through development of OoT and then put that in there.

Ohh, they're with certainty the ears of the animal of legend, the rabbit!!
The references are to the Hylians' belief that their own long ears enable them to hear the voices of the gods, and that the Amami rabbit is considered endangered due to overhunting. I don't really think it means anything beyond that. (Well, at a stretch I suppose you could tie the rabbit being an 'animal of legend' to Link's form in the dark world in A Link to the Past.)

Rabbits appear in abundance in ST.

Re: Could the original NES Zelda come BEFORE Ocarina of Time?!

Well, they appear in ALttP as well, which is pretty certainly after OoT and probably on the same continent/in the same area.

I really don't think the presence of rabbits are meant to indicate a placement of LoZ/AoL that goes against what everything else has told us.

Someone doesn't know his Nintendo statements. Aonuma has stated (and so has Miyamoto) on multiple occasions that there IS a timeline document. The former is an automated response from NoA.

SVB, droppin' the ball, there.

One of the few times you actually say something self-evident, you manage to not also include your catch phrase? For shame.

Those were technically monsters though. Either way, as Freeq's post shows, the rabbits weren't said to be hunted to extinction, just that their numbers had dropped significantly, so trying to base a timeline off of rabbits is pointless.

I guess you never saw Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

And at least someone was smart enough to remember the original LoZ manual. Which shows that Pol's Voice are ghosts. Angry bunny ghosts. Because Hylians hunted them almost to extinction.

OoT-ALttP-LoZ set in stone by angry bunny ghosts? FTW.
