Skyward Sword Speculation/Theory Thread (SPOILERS EXPECTED)

So I'm really digging how Phi addresses Link in the new GameInformer trailer.
"Master,". Reminds me of a little something from a while back.


Just what might these Links have in common that makes them worthy of wielding Phi's great vessel?

So...why hasn't hell broken lose in this thread yet?

Oh, and from the trailer here we see not only rails for mine carts, but what appears to be a steam boat as well as a zip line.

Anyone who thinks no game can go after ST because of technology is wrong

That sheikah looks very egyptian... maybe the Gerudo and Sheikah have a common ancestor?

One thing that I noticed from watching the new trailer of flying is that the volcano is NOT death mountain, it is called the Eldin Volcano. They may be one and the same eventually, but I figured it was a point to make. I think we will see a return of the province; Eldin, Faron, Lanayru and Ordon

I noticed them talking about "The Goddess". Yes, singular. I thought there were three goddesses, but they only mention one.

province names are a possibility, but unlikely, seeing as how OoT made no mention of provinces, let alone names for them, and the ordona province doesnt fit on the ooT map, unless it is after the Great Deku Tree died, and a new section of the forest opened up.

^Maybe province names always existed, just not mentioned in games. Probably because TP's map is so huge.

very possible, didnt think about it like that. OoT wasnt made with them in mind, but i guess they could exist.

I just had a crazy idea. What if the Mogma end up becoming the Zoras we see in later games? We never see the Mogmas in any of the other games, and we have yet to see a Zora in SS.

( I personally like to think that they end up becoming the moblins... I don't know why though, I guess it's because the names sound so similar.)

But hey, it's Zelda... So it could happen. The Ritos and Koroks are the descendants of Zoras and Kokiri after all...

Well apparently they're not a hostile race, so I don't know about moblins. Don't we see moblins, anyway?

It's also possible they go extinct and that's why Eldin Volcano is renamed "Death Mountain" later.

Yeah, that's my second guess as well. They'll be massacred or something of that sort.

I had a crazy idea as well: what if that Sheikah person is actually the true form of Phi? In that scene, Link has the Master Sword. Maybe, when the MS is completed, instead of housing it forever, Phi is set free.

Although I think I might be pushing it too far...

They both are shaped the same, with 2 arms and 3 claws... perhaps we might see him in the game?

He lacks that fire mane, though.

in OoT, it says volvagia was revived, not born. so it is possible. but it would be kinda lame fighting a boss we fought in a previous game. (ganondorf doesn't count lol)

I don't know, it would be interesting. Plus, you'd probably fight him differently if he actually does appear in SS.

This means that there was either a technological downgrade from SS, or it just moved away from the Land of Hyrule, since we only see tech like steam ships in PH and ST. Or heck, whose not to say that Skyloft could be above New Hyrule and that Maladus (The King of Demons) could be the main boss? Who knows.

I always hate how people over look this, it was clearly stated that he was revived, as you said. So that means somebody killed him, became a great Goron Hero, then Ganondorf revived him in OoT. But wasn't it stated that a Goron killed him? Maybe it was Link, but his name/species was lost to time/history?

Hmm... so since Eldin Volcano presumably is the same as Death mountain, it's probably a safe assumption that something bad happens and causes a lot of death, right? (Probably killing off all the Mogmas). Maybe something pisses Volvagia off and he goes kills/eats everyone?

There's always the chance that Nintendo will simply retcon that (with the excuse being that stories get distorted over time). Or maybe a Link and a Goron (one of Darunia's ancestors maybe?) work together?
