TWW timeline placement

Did anyone ever realise that TWW isn't part of the timeline? ALttP comes after OoT adult ending and TP comes after OoT child ending. Why? TWW is a cartoon of Zelda!

Yes it is. It was confirmed in 2004, with TWW's release.

WW comes after the adult ending of OoT. ALttP never fit there from the beginning. Explain what makes you think that ALttP fits that position better than WW.

Perhaps I was being a bit too drastic with that statement. I meant that WW fits the position better than ALttP. OoT - ALttP still had some inconsistencies, like OoT not matching up with the Seal War story, the Triforce somehow unifying and going back to the Sacred Realm for no reason, etc.

Yea, but still, that's a retcon we are certain of, since we know Oot was developed as the SW...

I don't think you can call a retcon on the state of the Triforce if that's what you are saying. We see the Triforce split at the end of OoT, but we see the Triforce unified and in the Sacred Realm in ALttP. It just doesn't match up. However, a bit of inconsistencies could be cleared up if you use the Miyamoto Order.

Also this theory is bad because tWW is not a cartoon- it is three dimensional and a cartoon is by definition a line drawing (historically specifically penceil).

Perhaps it is cartoon-y but it is not a cartoon.

Well, it is not exactly unified in LttP, each piece is flying separately when you get it...

That's sort of true, but the point is that at the end of OoT, the Triforce of Power is in Ganondorf and Wisdom and Courage are in Hyrule (in Zelda and Link). I don't see how all the Triforce pieces would hop out of their hosts and head to Ganon's Pyramid in the Sacred Realm for no reason.

That's close to fan fic though. The ALttP manual says that Ganon went into the Sacred Realm, got the whole Triforce, and got sealed in there. Nothing is even suggested that the Triforce ever left Ganon's possession since.

OoT messed up the timeline to begin with.

If you have OoT-ALttP-LoZ then you have inconsistencies with the Triforce and the general SW.
If you have OoT-LoZ-ALttP then you have inconsistencies with the seal and the AoL BS (but only if you put it after OoT, not before it).

LTTP is a classic game that is and was a favorite of many old fans, and Zelda has always been pitched as a series of legends. Why would they broadly change something just to pander to timeline theorists in 2002?

Seal War either is out-of-game or was retconned by FSA, with both excuses sounding a bit lazy. However, whatever you think, WW says OoT CANNOT be the Seal War.

@Hombre: possibly to make it so that it could fit anywhere.

Doesn't matter as FSA = SW was an idea based off of the SNES manual making us look at it instead of the GBA one.

They aldready changed the manual of ALttP GBA. If OoT really retconned the SW they could've put the backstory (OoT's story) in the manual. But they didn't. So to say that it's a "retcon we are certain of" is just silly.

They only shortened it, they didn't change any of it's facts, it does nothing to contradict the SNES manual, and they certainly did nothing to suggest any other game would meet up with it. The abridged manual has always been the poorest excuse to claim a retcon of intent.

TWW is definitely part of the Zelda timeline: hundreds of years after OoT on the "adult" side. As for ALttP...I've never played that game so I out of here.
