Submarine train...?

In one of the UK commercials of ST released recently we can briefly see the train descending under the water surface. Let's theorize about this one!

Which potential will bring this element to gameplay and storyline?

To me it smells like "Oh, there's an ancient artifact able to banish evil, but it's stuck in strange stone on the bottom of the sea, Link! We must find it, it's the only way to defeat Malladus! What's that rock for, anyway?"

With ST being released soon, let's see if someone of us guesses right!
Thanks
Prince Desirée

How do we know that's under the sea? What if the ocean is IN THE SKY?

Re: Submarine train...?

I thought about bringing this up to bug the people that say "the mastersword is lost under the surface of the sea and there's no way to go there"...but I thought it would be a futile argument atm. It's better to just wait for the release and see the context of that scene

Re: Submarine train...?

why don't we start a little guessing game before ST's release?

I guess we'll have to deal with ganon (directly or not) and the master sword.

That is odd.
I still highly doubt ST takes place before any existing Zelda game.

I was gonna say Link & the train could simply be upside down, but... the whole scene is tinged blue,
and Link seems to be in a bubble. And the land formations darken in the murky depths.

yes, AND the train's chimney releases bubbles instead of steam...

yes, I was trying to say that. Still, we're sure they're underwater, no ocean in the sky!

Speaking of the Master Sword, is it just me, or does the sword in the video (0:05) look a little like it? (Similar winged cross-guard and a gem in the middle.)

EDIT:The coloration is different, though... The Master Sword is purple/blue while that sword is blue-green.

Re: Submarine train...?

It does look like the Phantom Sword/Master Sword (the one Link is swinging),
in ALttP the MS has a metal & red handle, so I'm sure AT theorists will think the color
is being washed out with age/corrosion...

The green could be caused by rust and/or algae.

I'm actually glad I finally decided to place ALttP on the AT. ST seems to be supporting a lot of connections lately.

Re: Submarine train...?

That sword indeed has the same deign that is used by the master and phantom sword.
It's greenthough and slightly differently shaped than the mastersword, the shape of the hilt is more alike to the phantom sword. Then again this sword clearly has a gem like the masterswords one...and not an hourglass like the phantom sword.

Interesting find for sure.

The shape of the hilt is the same shape as the spirit/lokomo symbol.(the eagle with the single triangle).
I think that the sword it will be called the spirit sword.

I hate it when Nintendo makes things so obvious though. Was it so hard to guess the name of the sword in PH before it came out?
