On a lighter note... a TP family tree theory

First, let me introduce a family from OoT, this is common knowledge for many, so please bear with me.

This is the boss of the carpenters. In Majora's Mask an identical character
is called "Mutoh". Many characters in OoT are nameless, so for the sake of simplicity
I will use the names given to identical characters from other games.

This is "Granny", Mutoh's old lady:

Note that Mutoh's pants have a tiger print resembling Granny's tiger cub.

This is Mutoh's daughter "Anju", the cuccoo lady:
(actually it's a picture of an identical person in MM, but you get the idea)

And this is Anju's brother, "Grog", who is also Mutoh's son:
(actually it's a picture of an identical person in MM, but you get the idea)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How do I know they are all one family?

Here is quote evidence from OoT (if you've seen it, skip ahead to the next section).

Its name is Cojiro, and it used to
be my brother's Cucco. Its
blue body is quite charming.
It's so cute!
Since my brother has gone,
it's strange, but Cojiro has
stopped crowing.

Anju and Grog are brother and sister.

Link gets the saw Grog left behind:

The saw went from Mutoh to Granny to Grog, back to Mutoh.
If Mutoh is a poacher, that could explain the tiger print pants and cub...
...perhaps he doesn't want his workers to know about his poaching on the side, lol

I think we have satisfactorily shown that the aforementioned characters are all
one family.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, I was considering the similarites between Grog and Coro:

Both sit on a tree stump/under a tree.
Both are pretty much topless.
Both have an affinity for birds.
The name "Coro" is reminiscent of "Cojiro" (just remove the "ji").
Coro seems mopey in the sketch, and in the game... until you approach
him and he starts beaming.
Both characters sit in remote isolation.
Both have similar chests.
Both are called 'worthless'.

Coro's sister is Hena:

Another thing about my lazy
brother... I ask him to drop by and
help out from time to time, but he
never does.

He can't fish a lick, so he spends
his time in the woods, talking to
the animals, I guess. Yeah, he's
kinda worthless...

Hena's design is comparable to Anju.
Compare the blue eyes, hair and facial features of the two characters.

Hena and Coro's sister is Iza:

Make sure you drop by her boat-

Do you remember the owner of the Fishing Pond in OoT?

Hena has a picture of him in her house.

My theory? Wedding bells for Anju and the OoT fisherman:

Resulting in their descendants: Coro, Hena, and Iza.

I don't think I've heard that theory about OoT before, but it seems to be rather convincing. I'd have to agree on the OoT theory (it has a couple quotes supporting it, so I'm surprised that hasn't been thought up before (or has it? )).

Although the theory on TP is too subjective, imo. I don't see the similarities in characters...

Re: On a lighter note... a TP family tree theory

I always thought the OoT family was fairly obvious (I wouldn't even call it a theory - they outright tell you their relations)

I'm not sure if I buy the Anju/Fisherman thing, but it's an interesting thought.

Wow, i always thought that the weird lady with the red dress in OoT's kakariko was "Mutoh's" wife while the Granny was his mother. Either way, it seems to work.
As for the siblings in TP, yeah perhaps the Cucco lady did marry Fisherman. I never really thought of the relationship between them and "Grog" before.

Hena, Coro, and Iza are not Hylian. (They have round ears)
If this is true, then that would mean that Hylian's can adapt round ears.

But then again, Mutoh's ears are round, and they could have just inherited them from him...
Does the OoT version of Mutoh have round or pointy ears?

Not exactly sure if it can be proven, but I don't see anything that DISproves it.

You know, that never occurred to me. Despite her round ears, Hena considers it possible that she's descended from the pointy-eared fisherman (hell, we're encouraged to agree with her when she starts getting itchy).

Proof that the round-eared humans are descended from Hylians? Or just the developers not thinking things through?

Well, if Mutoh has round ears in OoT, then you could just say that they inherited them from him.

If he doesn't have round ears, then we might have discovered a possible origin for the round-eared humans.

Re: On a lighter note... a TP family tree theory

Mutoh's pointy. That art up there is from his OoX appearance.

As I've said many times, to me the appearance of round ears is just a genetic trait that slowly becomes dominant when breeding inter-race, or merely a genetic mutation within the Hylians. To me round ears and pointy ears is no different from blue or brown eyes in the world of Zelda.

He has pointy-ears in OoT... I believe all the NPCs do (except the Gerudo, obviously).

EDIT: Also, I pretty much agree with Zora. It's just awesome to find some actual ingame evidence of it.

It just sort of came out of nowhere. Not that I disagree with it, I just find it odd how I was seeing supportive evidence for everything else, and then when I scrolled down, "BAM" right in the face. It was so unexpected.

^ lol well it would explain Hena, Coro, and Iza's similarites to both Mutoh's family and the OoT
fisherman.

I suppose I should point out that if Anju and the fisherman didn't get married to each other,
their children (or grandchildren) could marry each other. In that case Anju and the Fisherman
would still be the ancestors of Coro, Hena, and Iza - even if they didn't get married.

Yeah, that's better, unless the Fisherman was already related to Anju by being cousins or something.

Let's just blame Nintendo of America for this one.

Re: On a lighter note... a TP family tree theory

She obviously can't deal with raising chickens due to allergies, so she marries the fisherman
and switches to raising fish instead. None of those awful feathers to worry about.
(just a thought)

And the fisherman got someone to scratch his back - it's a win-win

I just noticed this, but I know a couple who looks kinda like Anju and the Fisherman,
I never would've noticed until I made the heart image lol

maybe they met at the Lon Lon celebration...

My goodness... This is an excellent theory! I've never heard of this one before...

I knew that Hena was related to the fisherman in OoT, but not that Anju dated the fisherman guy.

I've never looked at it that way before, and still, very interesting and cool.
