That's not a robot, that's a guy in armour.

In low-res, an armoured arm looks pretty much like a robot arm.

No WAY is that a guy in armour. He has fingers- all hands, armoured or not, in the art style have PS2 block hands, and it's got glowing red knuckles. That, my friend, is a robot.

At the VERY least: A guy with a robot arm.

You're right... At first I thought it was just the phantom, but that is clearly a different arm. I'm not sure what to think now.

That, or they gave the character fingers because they use hand-gestures more extensively like a stereotypical villain would.

Robot is pushing it. If they wanted to go that far in technological advancement, the train wouldn't be made of wood. Maybe it's some sort of Zant-like character, or Ganondorf or something, but a robot is something it isn't.

There have been robots in Zelda before. Goht, for example, and possibly the Armos in Minish Cap...

As I pointed out in the vastly superior ZI thread on this topic, we may hve a hint about the storyline twist in this game. Most games have some big event near the middle.

From a lot of clues, it seems that Link is a postman, and thus, the train is a mail-delivery train. So why exactly is Princess Zelda riding the train in the video?

Theory:

For some reason, Zelda has to flee the Castle undercover, and uses Link's train. Due to some sort of trouble, the train crashes/comes to a stop, and MYSTERIOUS ROBOT CREATURE THING makes his entrance.

Also, notice how the train doesn't seem to be on tracks in that video?

Hm, just derailed? Or moving without tracks?

We know you eventually have the ability to lay your own tracks...

Yes, but Goht was in Termina where they had all sorts of machinery, and the Armos were still very much magical with their insides being all fire and mystical forest midgets.

This means fully fledged robotics in Zelda... which is fun times... Unless the arm turns out to be something completely different.

Nothing at all. But Goht was magical, but still a robot, yet Armos are not considered so. Magical means of existence is not a factor really-

In a very Socrates-type manner, when does a guardian become a robot? When it's made of metal not stone? Has cogs? Is humanoid?

Goht is a robot, is Gohdan? etc. etc.

Okay the robot is probably the main villian. Guy in the train reminds me of Gonzo. As for the phantom it is interesting how his eyes change color. Perhaps he starts out as evil.

Seriously though, you can really tell that they are going even further with this technological advancement stuff. What's next, a spaceship, a lightsaber?
