Why is "New Hyrule" so popular on ZU?
On most of the Zelda discussion boards I visited before I joined Zelda Universe, the idea of a "New Hyrule" being formed after Wind Waker was seen as something quite preposterous. But here, the theorists generally seem to accept the idea of a "New Hyrule" as being fact. Why is this?
I personally think that the reason why so many ZU theroists use "New Hyrule" in their timelines is because this website was once full of linearists, and one of the key features of most linear timelines is "New Hyrule". Even now that the idea of a linear timeline has been completely debunked, the idea of a "New Hyrule" still remains because of how popular it once was. I see it as a ghost of the linear timeline. I'm not saying that the idea of a "New Hyrule" is wrong. It just seems strange that it's so popular here... |

Re: Why is "New Hyrule" so popular on ZU?
I believe it cause I see no reason not to and making sense of LoZ and AoL in context with OoT seems to make more sense, particularly in relation to the GDT's plan and Tetra's comment. The crunch will come if or not ST's land is called Hyrule.
Tenner says it is.

Re: Why is "New Hyrule" so popular on ZU?
The notion that OoT still is the Seal War is what makes a New Hyrule neccesary after Wind Waker. I think most people who have a new Hyrule on the AT follows this conception. There are exceptions to this though. *cough* Looks one post above me... They have a new Hyrule just for the sake of having one, I think...

Re: Why is "New Hyrule" so popular on ZU?
I have one not for the sake of having one, but for the sake of LoZ and AoL which I really can not see working at all of the CT.
Come on, I've come round to CT aLttP- I'm a big boy who can make his own decisions ![]() If the land in ST is called Hyrule, Nerushi, what will be your reaction? Regardless of whether or not it ends as similar to AoL as it did at the start of development? (Entirely angry no spoiler have been leaked on this game. A month before tWW we had the whole game leaked ,I'm sure.)

![]() If it is called Hyrule, then what? I guess then I'll have to accept post WW Hyrule, but that doesn't mean it would be followed by any older games. ST could very well display a new Hyrule while outright contradict any older games happening after it. We don't know yet. Also, it occured to me that ST doesn't have to happend on the AT. Our only basis for that is the word of a NoA reprensentive. It could easily have changed since... Well, I won't hope for it...

Not enough info conclude that Kokiri aren't somewhere in TP with an impassable entrance.
If you accept future history LoZ/AoL can be in old Hyrule on the AT, a wonderful fit.

If I accept your (incredibly jaded) idea of to what Future History refers, Cukey, (
) then I'd without question keep LoZ and AoL where they are on my line and put aLttP in the 'destined' line.

poo to those who disregard TP -> ALttP
![]() (I know u accept TP -> ALttP, but IMO it should be enough to keep it on the CT should future history exist)

It isn't fact, but it is a possibility, and is mildly hinted towards. It could easily stop at WW.

Re: Why is "New Hyrule" so popular on ZU?
Especially because the Master Sword and all traces of Hylian culture are lost under the Great Sea, making it impossible for them to appear in Hyrule in ALTTP if ALTTP is on the adult timeline.
This is further strengthened by the Master Sword's resting place in TP. Come on, it doesn't get much more obvious than that. The developers were clearly trying to establish TP as taking place some time before ALTTP, with or without games in between. And don't try to say the Master Sword's resting place in TP is just a cameo, because you still have to explain how the hell it would end up in the Lost Woods after being lost under the Great Sea in WW.
