Re: Mother & Child Island, Spirit Temple
It's an interesting theory and I suppose it relatively makes sense. My only question would be why the great fairy is in the old spirit temple.

True, but I'm still not completely sure. I do still like the idea. It's plausable to me to say the least.

If I could see screen shots of both to compare, it would be easier to make a call on this one, but I guess anything is possible in Zelda.

Re: Mother & Child Island, Spirit Temple
Its pure nonesense if you ask me. If we where to go by creator intent, then Mother & Child Rocks in TP has more connection to it than this, just based on its name. I sincerely doubt the creators had the Spirit Temple in mind when they made Mother & Child Isles, and even if they did, its quite irrelevant.

Re: Mother & Child Island, Spirit Temple
It's a nonsensical theory that has no profound bearing on any aspect of the games as a whole. As I read the theory, I couldn't help but slowly move my hand towards my face, resulting in a:

While that is most likley just a coincidence it is interesting that the fairy queen gives you the ice and fire arrows, whoch matches the spirit temples bipolar theme nicley.
But seriously, if anything the terra temple is the spirit temple.

Re: Mother & Child Island, Spirit Temple
well, it would make sense that the queen of fairies would be attracted to the spirit temple. it would have a strong energy to her, im guessing.

Re: Mother & Child Island, Spirit Temple
I think the Spirit Temple would be way under water right? I also thought, when playing WW, that the Earth Temple was really similar to the Spirit Temple, with all the Gerudo-esque art and the light reflection and stuff. I have never put much stock in maps and location, since I think it only makes sense to change up the landscape each game in an adventure series.

Re: Mother & Child Island, Spirit Temple
Could be. Its no stranger then all of the cities and towns of Hyrule suddenly having mountains sprout beneath them. After all Hyrule in OoT was incredibly flat except for Death Mountain.
I used to wonder if AlltP is set in a drained old Hyrule, and the Desert Palace is the Spirit Temple eroded to its inner sanctums/foundations even, or a new temple built on the remains of the old one after the receding flood. Again pet theory, but stranger stuff happens in Zeldaland. Isn't the Forsaken Fortress the remains of the Gerudo Fortress?
