Explanation for the Disappearance of the Gerudo
Their names are.... Bulbins.
Yes, I theorize that the Bulbins replaced the Gerudo as Ganondorf's followers in TP. I don't have a lot of evidence, so my theory is sorta fanfickerish. But, my theory arises from these things: 1. The Gerudo are missing in TP. The bulbins make their debut in TP. 2. According to the quote by the sages: Quote:
First thing I noticed is that it says, "band of theives", and not tribe, meaning a relatively small faction of people, not an entire race. Referring to an entire race of people as theives is somewhat of a stereotype, is it not? The Gerudo are not evil people. Yes, I know that Gerudo are theives, but Bulbins are too. Bulbins are far more ruthless than Gerudo, much more likely to kill, and much more obedient to their master.... they are just the type of people that Ganondorf needs. And also the fact that Bulbins are viewed as monsters, and not human-like, makes it easier for them to be seen as a whole as theives... Secondly, it says they invaded Hyrule. A good look around Hyrule will reveal that Bulbins definitely have invaded it between the time of OoT and TP. Thirdly, Ganondorf is referred to as a demon thief. Bulbins are demon-like theives. Ganondorf is the leader of these theives.... therefore he invaded Hyrule with a band of Bulbin theives. 3. The Gerudo are not evil people. As I stated before, they are not evil people... a little misguided? Maybe. But evil? No. I am NOT referring to the Terminian Gerudoes, as they're clearly different people. I'm referring to the Hyrulean ones who go to Castle Town looking for boyfriends.... at the end of OoT, we see them celebrating at Lon Lon Ranch with the rest of the tribes... another sign that although they are hostile to outsiders, they have a warm side. Also, as we see in FSA, they are nice people. Not hostile, not theives, and have a relatively good reputation throughout Hyrule. Also, the fact that they expelled Ganondorf for entering the Pyramid tells me that they do have morals and are willing to stand up for what they believe in. 4. Quote from King Bulbin: Quote:
5. Bulbins ride pigs. OK.... I know that has nothing to do with anything, but maybe Ganondorf looked at them like, "Cool, so you like pigs too?, Pigs ar kewl. Very well then, join me". Sooooo............. What am I getting at? According to my theory, Ganondorf was deposed as king of the Gerudos for something I don't know. Maybe he ordered them to invade Hyrule, and they refused. Or maybe something else. Anyways, as a result of getting deposed, Ganondorf left the desert. He then found the Bulbins, after promising them a better life, he then, together with the Bulbins, launched as massive assault on Gerudo Desert, killing some of the Gerudos, and driving the others out. This would explain their presence in Gerudo Desert. Then, Ganondorf set his eyes on the Sacred Realm. Together with his group of Bulbins, they attacked Hyrule, but after running into fences, falling off of horses, and general clumsiness, they were easily defeated by the Knights of Hyrule. Without the back up of his crew(whom he was going to kill anyways, once he got a hold of the Triforce), Ganondorf was easily subdued and brought to justice. So yes, Bulbins have taken the place of Gerudos during the time of TP, according to my theory. I would like to hear your thoughts on my theory. |

Re: Explanation for the Disappearance of the Gerudo
The Bulblins take place of the Moblins... Not the Gerudo in my opinion. The Bulblins serve Zant, not Ganon.

And yes, I know the obvious response is that they replaced Moblins, but how many Moblins did we see in OoT? There were like 4 in the whole game, and they served as guards, not theives. Better yet, how many Moblins did we see in Gerudo Desert? None. |

Re: Explanation for the Disappearance of the Gerudo
The Gerudo desert in OoT is different then the one we see in Twilight Princess.
Not only that the Gerudo would have gone from all females and one male to all males and not present females I am assuming. |

Re: Explanation for the Disappearance of the Gerudo
Nope, same desert. Maybe a different PART of the desert, but the same desert nonetheless. And the Gerudo are not there. Bulbins are. Not only are they present, but they have made themselves at home there. They have set up camps, and pretty much live there.

Re: Explanation for the Disappearance of the Gerudo
I'd like to quote myself here... and say that this is pretty much what I believe. The Gerudo never really followed Ganon in OoT willingly their leader is brainwashed and tells them to follow him.

Re: Explanation for the Disappearance of the Gerudo
Exactly my point. That's why Ganondorf had them replaced with Bulbins, according to my theory. Please read my post entirely. I know it's long, but I would like you to at least give my post a little thought before you respond.

Re: Explanation for the Disappearance of the Gerudo
I did give it thought. Ganon chose the Twili. The bulblins were a nice bonus to him I guess, for they already followed Zant.
Just because the Bulblins and Gerudo have some similarities does not mean anything. The Moblins are generaly thought of as Ganon's main followers. |

Re: Explanation for the Disappearance of the Gerudo
astinktothepast, your chain of events would have occurred before the split timeline. Trouble is, if these events were true, there would be no Gerudos in Ocarina of Time.
And while very off-topic, Navi the Fairy, what kind of narcissistic punk would sig their own quote?

Re: Explanation for the Disappearance of the Gerudo
I like this theory, TC. I never saw the Gerudo as the type to try and invade Hyrule, but I can imagine the Bulbins doing it. I'm not so sure whether I agree with the stuff about the Bulbins driving the Gerudo out of the desert (it's a bit too baseless), but it's certainly possible that the Bulbins were Ganondorf's "band of thieves".

Re: Explanation for the Disappearance of the Gerudo
I don't see a problem with this theory. They took over the gerudos for Ganny and became his new thievs. weather its true or not, it dose not affect anything really so i deem this theory very plausable ^_^.

Re: Explanation for the Disappearance of the Gerudo
Lols, I sig my own quote!!!! ^.^
I originally had a string of quotes of people having different areas related to Zelda in their houses. I realized that was too large. I guess I could take out the quote part now... Any hoo... even if the Bulbins replaced the Gerudo as Ganon's followers I don't see how this explains the Gerudo's complete absence. Unless Ganondorf/bulblins killed off the Gerudo. In that case good theory. |

Re: Explanation for the Disappearance of the Gerudo
Well that's a shame. I sig'd my quote about not sigging quotes, and now it's not as funny because you removed your sig. Oh well, hypocritical humor FTW.

Ganon's TP beast form is an elephant/bear cross with its trunk cut off.

He is not saying that the Gerudo became the Bulblins. He is saying that the bulblins replaced the Gerudo as Ganon's followers.

but he got captured and sent to the Twilight Realm for a long time, so I guess they never heard from him again unless they lived a lot longer... and with the desert entrance becoming impassable... they're kind of out of the loop, maybe they took up knitting? EDIT: ...or relocated to Holodrum/Labrynna...
