Hero of Legend

I don't believe in this idea, but it might make for a nice plot...

What if in Link's Awakening there were cameos from every other Zelda game,
so that by the end of the game, all of Link's past lives that he had previously been
unaware of were brought to mind / 'remembered', and he knew himself as the
'Hero of Legend' - a Hero who appears whenever Hyrule needs him...

^ Hey, it almost sounds like Nintendo was planning a sequel to Link's Awakening,
"the next threat to your homeland".

(I know not everyone agrees with ALttP/LA )

Interesting theory, but as far as I know, the cameos only go as far as ALttP (at the time it was made). That quote from the manual is quite intriguing. What if we could somehow fit an already existing game after it?

Link gets back to Hyrule and after a while, FS happens.

I think the threat to your homeland bit was just a reference to the fact that Ganon would go on to attack Hyrule later in LoZ (assuming you believe in an LttP-LoZ order, that is )

I agree. It's just that I dreamt there was a version of LA with specific references
to other games, and thought it was a neat game concept. Plus the way some of LA's
ALttP references have become broader references as the series continues to have
recurring themes and characters.

^ In that case, LA would likely be last on one of the timelines.

Wan't it stated by the creators it LA is a direct sequal to aLttP?
