Is Link Divine?
Is Link perfect and incapable of doing evil? Is he always able to make the most noble and courageous decisions no matter what?
It seems that because he bears the Triforce of Courage, he has a purely righteous mind and soul... Are there any pieces of evidence showing Link making an immoral decision? What are your thoughts?

Re: Is Link Divine?
He isn't incapable of doing evil. Link can get pretty pissed, as seen when he turns into a wolf. Also, seen my Fierce Diety.

Re: Is Link Divine?
If a mortal cannot or will not do evil, they are still mortal (not divine).
I think when Link terrorizes Cuccos by slashing them with his sword he is doing something pretty messed up ![]()

Re: Is Link Divine?
Just because someone gets angry, doesn't mean they aren't incapable of doing evil.
It's not wrong to get angry at someone because they are mocking you and pulling your ear.

Re: Is Link Divine?
Well, the first thing that comes to my mind is the creepy cutscene in TP were he is shown with the multiple dark Links and is chasing after the Triforce, but that was never reality. In my case my Link liked to steal from the shop in Faron Woods.
Link, thought of stealing the Hero's Sheild from his grandmother, but only so he could save his sister. |

Although, you could argue that the developers meant for it to be intentional by including the feature in the first place. But perhaps he is well excused for taking from the shop. Because he is taking for the noble cause of saving the world, his actions are excused. Kinda like how FBI agents are allowed to take civilians' vehicles under certain circumstances.

Re: Is Link Divine?
Obviously not, since I steal from shops, break pots and take the money whenever possible.

Re: Is Link Divine?
Link is capable of doing evil.
All mortals are. What separates him is that he chooses not to do evil, which is much more impressive IMO, because the temptation is there, and he doesn't do it, versus the temptation not existing. If he was incapable of doing evil, I would find him less interesting, because he wouldn't really have a personality aside from perfection. Things like stealing from shops are more like Easter Eggs. It's not really canonical. It's more the player's style, like you can break pots in people's houses, or cut grass. Canonically though, Link is given two choices, or two possible motivations, and always picks the high road. Since Dark Link's true nature is unknown and unconfirmed, that is a theory. It even says so on the wiki page. |
