Zelda Wii: Ocarina of Time Prequal?

I wish I had more evidence but just keep this in mind:

1) Miyamoto said "A new era" this could mean that it may be in the distant past and not the future.

2) Miyamoto wants us to notice that in the portrait Link is not holding a sword, and everyone has stated that the girl looks like the

That in mind, the new game could be about the creation of the and that girl somehow being what gives it the power to repel evil.

Thoughts?

I actually think that it'll be a TP prequel, but both ideas are possible. I wish we had some more info...

I think I'm going to wait for at least a title before trying to guess the timeline spot.

This is pretty much exactly what I was thinking. Either this or Link (after OoT/MM) is trying to find a new way of using the Master Sword without unlocking the Sacred Realm.

Re: Zelda Wii: Ocarina of Time Prequal?

Very soon. Anyway, I like your thoughts that it might be a prequel. If that girl is indeed the Master Sword personified, then I'd be willing to wager that this game is a MS Origins story of sorts, which would mean that it would by default predate OoT.

However.

I'm not fully sold yet on the idea that she's the Master Sword. In fact, I'm willing to bet she has more to do with the Great Fairies than anything, but the similarities are there to support both sides...we're just going to have to wait for an official word on this.

I'm still betting on a MM-ZW-TP placement with the idea Beemy shamefully stole from me

Re: Zelda Wii: Ocarina of Time Prequal?

I have an idea for a TP prequel...

If Link left the Door of Time open at the end of OoT, then the only thing that would stop Ganondorf from getting to the sacred realm would be the Master sword.
Perhaps, he finds some way to separate the sword's evil repelling power from the sword itself, making the MS completely useless. He then enters the sacred realm, but to his surprise, the Triforce is nowhere to be found. That then leads up to the execution scene in TP, where he finds out that he already has the ToP and is sent to the twilight realm.

It could also explain some things that were mysteries in TP, like the disappearance of the Gerudo, and the Location of the Temple of Time.

1) Great Fairy Sword, anyone?

2) It's too early to speculate on this. I'm pretty sure he meant a new era by the wii controls, which I still hate.

And no, I don't think he meant the Wii controls when he said "new era," since he also referred to Link being older in the same sentence.

That's all wii is, crappy waggle controls. That's what I liked about TP and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, they didn't use much of the controls. Sure, TP had it's whole sword swinging, but it wasn't bother some, where in wii sports theres no reg.

What games are actually good on wii?

*headdesk*

Go play sword fighting on Wii Sports Resort and talk to me about waggle. MotionPlus makes all the difference.

As for what games are good. TP, Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, Metroid Prime: Corruption, just to name a few.

THEY SEE ME TROLLIN'

No More Heroes.

AND to get back on topic, I too think that ZWii will be a prequel to TP, featuring the same Link from OoT/MM. I'm hoping it fills in what we are told he does in TP.

I thought that ZWii Link was suposed to be older than TP Link. I don't see a prequal to TP if this is the case.

Re: Zelda Wii: Ocarina of Time Prequal?

A prequel, but with a different Link. tWW is a sequel to OoT, but OoT Link is older than tWW Link.

In the same way, TP's prequel can feature an older, previous Link.

Re: Zelda Wii: Ocarina of Time Prequal?

While it's still too early to speculate too much, I think, based on the girl in the picture, that it may deal with the creation of the Master Sword. That's what I think, but that's not necessarily what I think would be best. We already know the Sages created it. What I would like to see is how Ganondorf is subdued and brought to justice and how the Temple of Time ends up in the Sacred Grove. Of course, a game with a completely new villain would be much better, and could simply take place AFTER Ganondorf's execution, as Link was still pretty much a child during his execution, and the Link in the picture is an adult.

And by the way, great Wii games:

Twilight Princess
Brawl
Metroid Prime 3 (and the newly ported first 2 Prime games)
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Paper Mario
Punch-out!!
TMNT: Smash Up
Madworld
The Conduit
Wii Sports Resort (although I hate the new golf controls and I think archery should stay the way it was in TP for the next Zelda game)
Call of Duty: World at War
Link's Crossbow Training
Mario Kart Wii

Adequate Wii games:

Tomb Raider: Underworld
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (although the controls just seem to do whatever the **** they want and the game has horribly flawed visuals and sound, which I usually don't care about, but here, it's inexcusable.)
