Alltp where does it go?

Many people, including myself, have Alltp in the timeline with Oox and La, normally not on the same side of the timeline as Loz/Aol. Which is ok, but I am constantly being told that Alltp is a sequel to Loz/Aol. How could it be a sequel if its on the other side of the timeline?

I'd love to hear peoples' ideas and reasoning to why this is.

That's how, and that's why in my opinion they're on the same side. None of this retconning bull****.

Miyamoto stated that ALTTP was a sequel to LOZ/AOL in an interview, so that's probably the reason why some people would put the games in that order. Theorists tend to take this statement with a pinch of salt though, because Miyamoto's knowledge of the timeline is questionable is best.

Personally, I'd place all of the Hyrule-based games on the child timeline. For some reason, the idea of a post-Wind Waker Hyrule is really popular on this forum, but on most other Zelda forums it's pretty much taboo to even consider the idea of a new Hyrule existing on the adult timeline. I hate the idea of "new Hyrule" as well...

The fact that the guy who created the game said it, means that it's that way until said otherwise. We really need to start following quotes on here, when known to us. Sure, I've not followed quotes, but that's because I didn't know about them at the time.

And what Zelda forum is this?

Miyamoto said ALttP was a sequel to LoZ/AoL.
LoZ/AoL is put on the Adult side of OoT by the town names,
but I think WW bumped ALttP down to the CT.

Just a question, why does your timeline split into 3 instead of 2?

Despite claims to the contrary, the LoZ timeline was very vague and nebulous prior to the release of Twilight Princess, which helped a lot of things fall into place, including the most likely (I say most likely because there are still people who disagree, despite evidence staring them in the face) placement of AoL and ALttP. Because of the towns in AoL being named for/after the Seven Sages, AoL is most likely to occur on the AT, while, due to the location of the Master Sword in TP matching the sword's location in ALttP, and the introduction of Sages in TP who most closely match - despite their ethereal appearances - the Sages spoken of in ALttP, it (ALttP) is most likely to occur on the CT. You can also determine the most likely placement of LoZ and LA (LoZ being the direct prequel to AoL and LA being a direct sequel to ALttP) by association (LoZ occuring on the AT, and LA occuring on the CT).

This is the "Original Timeline" Zelda altered by sending Link back in time:

OT: MC - OoT - LoZ/AoL

It lets me put AoL after the Adult ending of OoT, so I can have the town names, it gives
me an origin for LoZ Ganon, and I can keep AoL in "old Hyrule". If you place AoL after
the flood... it seems to me that the Sage lore would be lost, and I highly doubt Hyrule makes
a comeback after the flood (even in name).
