Link's Crossbow Training - Canon?

do you think LCT is canon?

OoT-MM-TP-LCT?

This could be true because After Link saves the day in Twilight Princess he could have gone to do some archery training.
Also in LCT there is a level where the market town of hyrule is celebrating by shooting fireworks and balloons into the sky, this could mean that they are celebrating because Ganondorf has been defeated and the evil has been vanquished.

This could also be untrue since in LCT there is a level where the Stallord is alive and you battle it. In TP Zant used his power to resurect the Stallord, but later in the game Zant dies. So then how can the Stllord be alive in LCT?

What do you think?

LCT is just a minigames CD. Haven't storyline. So.... Isn't a big deal.

Wrong. Link's Crossbow Training does in fact have a story (literally: after TP, Link went to train with a crossbow), and its status as a side-story was compared to MM by Miyamoto himself!

Does it even matter? It doesn't do any timeline-indicating, and it's a mini-game sidequest.

If you don't think it matters than don't bother posting Potent Col. It was a question. I never said it has vital value to the timeline.

I doubt it. Stallord appears in it as a final boss, and he is supposed to be dead, isn't?

But anyway, LCT doesn't affect the timeline, so... whatever

It was a question... and he answered it.

I personally don't think that it has any affect on the timeline as a whole.

LCT is confirmed canon. Link went off

1) To train with a crossbow in case of a return of Ganon or any other villain
2) To kill off the remaining monsters in Hyrule from Ganon's rage.

no one has explained how Stallord is still alive though...

Apparently, the Stallord in LCT is different-looking in comparison to the one in TP, something about it having two more horns, or two more eye-holes, I don't remember... At any rate, if it has a different appearance, it doesn't have to be the same one.

IIRC, it has six horns while the one in TP has four.

Right, because it's much more likely that Stallord inexplicably came back to life and grew two more horns than there being mutliple Stallords.

no, it just makes alot more sense that the game itself is not canon.

I see no reason why not, it doesn't change anything, except maybe the fact the Stallord could be a species like stalfos and stalchildren.

I considered it conon. It takes place right after TP. Link's is going around Hyrule defeating the last of the monsters. The stallord is diffrent than the one in TP.

Wasn't he dead the first time?

I give Link's Crossbow Training the same amount of "canon respect" as I do Ancient Stone Tablets: it could be canon (and really it doesn't do anything for the timeline, positively or negatively) but until a developer says that it is, I wont include it on my timeline.

Ya, but he was first brought back to life by Zant sticking that sword in it. That's when it became a 'Twilight fossil'.

Well, once we finished the Ocarina of Time, we decided to make Majora’s Mask as a kind of side story.

Oh right, I remember that. When I first heard of the idea for Link’s Crossbow Training it really reminded me of Majora’s Mask. I remember thinking that it was aiming to make use of the game world and game system of Twilight Princess in a different setting.

Yeah, that’s true. The terrain created for Twilight Princess was vast. And honestly, I really thought there was more we could do with it. Those sort of sentiments always cross our minds in video game development though…(smiles).

So, after we finished with the development of Twilight Princess, I talked to the staff about whether or not we could do a side story. With a big series like Zelda, we usually only release a new version every 3-5 years, but we thought it would be great to make something for those people that really enjoyed Twilight Princess where they’d be able to keep playing in the same world. I think it’s important for players to be able to play new games at a fairly fast pace.

On the other hand, it’s also probably important to keep the development pace moving for the sake of developers as well, right?

That’s true. So, I asked our Zelda staff to think about a new project with an extra story based around Twilight Princess. But then, they were coming up with stories that can be described as ’epic tales’ rather than ’side stories’.

And the people have to wait 3-5 years for it again?

Of course it’s also important to continue creating epics, but I do not believe that an epic tale alone can make a great game. I mean, depending on what kind of characteristics are added to a game, the fundamental enjoyment behind it can get lost amongst all the gadgets. With that in mind, we took some time to ponder over the new project and I ultimately suggested that we make a game based on the Twilight Princess that utilized the Wii Zapper.

I don't know, Miyamoto seems to compare to it Majora's Mask, which is definitely canon. I don't see any problems with placing it after TP, but I don't really know what it adds either.

Funnily enough, it seems like there's some foreshadowing of Zelda Wii:
