wow so the zant sword and horns are a pretty big difference (Zant's sword gave the one from TP it's life!)

Not that I think it's canon, I'm undecided, but for what reasons do you think it isn't canon?

Re: Link's Crossbow Training - Canon?

There's only like one point that says LCT is not canon, and thats the Stallord being in it again. But we already talked about that and it isn't the same Stallord:
More horns
Recunstructed spine
no zant sword stuck in its head
and it's not inside the temple!!! ... wait... is it? I can't remember..

but anyways there is more proff stating that it is canon ..

The thing from LCT is not the same Stallord seen in TP:
-more horns
-missing twilight sword
-found in the middle of Gerudo desert as oposed to arbiters grounds
-and lastly, the one from TP was blown to bits, utterly destroyed

Now that that is covered, one may ask why another Stallord should come to life.
You might as well ask why there are Stalfoes all around Hyrule, or why there are those skeletal undead dogs/wolfs in Hyrule field at night.
Undead enemies are common in Zelda and do not need an explanation.

the stalfoes are controled by ganondorf or the other main bad guys, correct? so are the other undead beings (maybe with the exception of the redeads). So who is controling this stallord?

The same question can be asked for the other more common undead enemies you fight in LCT. Personally, I don't really think they need an explanation.

AoL has shown that Ganondorf doesn't even have to be alive for Stalfoes to be present. MM shows us Stalfoes that are completly fine on there own and not controlled by anyone. OoX shows us a Stalfoe captain sailing across the sea, quite benevolent towards Link and certainly not controled by the evil doers of that game.
And let's not forget the Hero's Shade in TP.
So no, not all undead creatures and not all "Stals" are controlled by a main bad guy. In fact many of them might be "natural" undead occurances. (the dead coming back in Zombie or Ghost form seems to be a pretty normal thing in Zelda)

Re: Link's Crossbow Training - Canon?

Stalfos Knights come from the Lost Woods, so they're probably animated by magic. With that, I say that the Stallord in LCT is animated by either magic or by the spirits of the people who died in the desert over the past few hundred years.

Re: Link's Crossbow Training - Canon?

My veiw is that the Stallord we saw in TP is the old king and was resurected by Zant and the one we saw in LCT is the new king. Something like that.

Re: Link's Crossbow Training - Canon?

Ironically the games/media that people can't decide are canon or not are the ones that are least important to the timeline and easiest to place!

Ancient Stone Tablets, Sound and Drama, Link's Crossbow Training-

Easy peasy to place, but no one knows whether to count them!

Personally anything that doesn't begin 'Legend of Zelda' (with the exception of AoL which was pre-prefix times ) is staying out of my timeline for the sake of argument! As for 'The Legend of Zelda: Ancient Stone Tablets', well- it's obvious where it'd go if it is canon, and because of Miyamoto deeming it not worthy of mention back in his original timeline quotation, I will not include it!

There are Fourteen 'Zelda' games so far as I am concerned so far- and it is these which shall make up my timeline!

Re: Link's Crossbow Training - Canon?

LCT makes no problems in the timeline really, developers, APPEAR (not def) seem to want it in there. It has enough of a backstory to fit in there for me.

Nice, any ways. So what makes a Zelda game canon? Just the Fact that it starts with "The Legend of Zelda"?

That's actually a good question, one that may be worthy of its own thread.

I'll also ask this again, does Link in LCT have the mark of the Triforce on his hand at all?
