Source? The only other way I've seen it re-translated is when jacensolo06 did it:

Quote:
King of Darkness… The man who took the Trident, the demon's evil device (ja-ki) revived from ancient times!!
Which would imply the device as being revived.

Keeping in mind that Japanese grammar structure is different from English's, Jumbie, the first translator, seems to think of the trident as the one being revived:

Quote:
Also, the sentence says the demon's trident has been "revived", which just means "reactivated" or "brought back".

Re: Timelines: Is there even an Adult and Child Timeline?

I don't have the source, but I think Artemicion does. He's the one who showed it to me.

Doesn't Jumbie also say that there is some sort of pun that could mean that the demon's spirit was brought back with the Trident?

Perhaps, but it is the first I have heard of it. The closest thing that comes to mind is this:

Quote:
Also, the sentence says the demon's trident has been "revived", which just means "reactivated" or "brought back".
Because of all that, the reason Zelda knows this presumed stuff of legends is simpler than we thought: It's merely the knowledge the maidens acquired throughout that same game, so *anyone* could've summed up who Ganon is the way Zelda does...
Anyhow, I'd say jacesolo's re-translation pretty much solidifies the trident as being revived, as well as Jumbie's notes (from what I've seen). I'll look through the translation thread a little more, though.

EDIT: I found that in the translation thread, Jumbie had misinterpreted the original Japanese as saying the demon as the one being reborn and later edited the post to the more correct interpretation of the device being revived. Maybe Artemicion got that quote from Jumbie's original post?

Hmm....

FSA Ganon can still be a different Ganon though, right?

Re: Timelines: Is there even an Adult and Child Timeline?

Speaking of translations, I was considering the developer quote about TP occuring
X centuries after OoT (since their word for hundred can also mean hundreds).

What I was wondering is if this is the same word used when the Gerudo say that
a male child is born every hundred years. Is this one century or multiple centuries?

It would kind of make sense if it was multiple centuries. If it was every century, you'd
think we'd see Gerudo males more often in the series

[QUOTE=xoɹǝpnpɐpןǝz;3098343]You're saying it's confirmed because Miyamato said so, he also said OoT came first. And alot of people think MC came first. Even if it were real, this would probably be the correct timeline if it weren't.[/QUOTE

I dont agree with "alot of people think MC came first". More peopel believe in Oot coming first than MC.

Does it matter? It still has as much as a valid possibility as Ocarina of Time. I'm this close to actually being persuaded that Minish Cap does come first.

*smiles creepily*

While TMC - OoT does have as much supporting evidence as WW/PH - TMC, I admit that most people do believe that it comes after WW.

Re: Timelines: Is there even an Adult and Child Timeline?

MC coming first was just some randoms idea that people began to believe. Like jesus, I could make up a bunch of **** about ALttP coming first, even though it can't. MC technically can come first I guess, but it makes more sense after WW

Re: Timelines: Is there even an Adult and Child Timeline?

No, it makes equal sense in either position.

I wonder, if we were to take out all the cameos in TMC, would there still be any timeline indicators left?

Please refrain from using the word "gay" to express something bad or indecent.

The only thing that comes to mind is the "Thus Link's first adventure ended" quote in the Japanese version.

^ And that could even be interpreted as "Link's first adventure in New Hyrule".

I don't see how anyone could come to that conclusion, considering MC never says anything about "new Hyrule" at all.
