Would you participate?

I got an idea for a new thing around here in the Writing Board, but before I'd start it, I wanna see how many people actually like it. I'm trying to get some more activity around the fan works, and my writer's council newest spriter's hangout kinda flopped, so maybe this would work.


The plan is, that every week, I create, and sticky a new thread. Every one will be for discussion about a certain topic of writing, anything really. I'd choose myself what each one would be, post my own thoughts, and allow for any member to drop in and speak their mind. Of course, being that I'd want it to be a civilized, productive thread, I'd keep close moderation on it, and make sure that people are posting good replies. When the week is up, I'd unsticky the thread, and sticky a new one to begin. Of course, all past topics would remain open, just one would get the sticky-highlight for a week only.


So, does this sound like something people would actually take part in?

That sounds like a good idea, though one week seems a bit short for replies and discussion.

Mirren that is good idea for discussion, if you can get people to participate and have good qualilty discussions I see no reason why people wouldn't want to do it. Really I'm all for it and would gladly participate.

This sounds like a very interesting idea. Seeing as how I am very into writing and reading and the like. You can expect me to post frequently in the topic, if it exists, and if school doesn't hold me up.

Sure, sounds like a good idea. I'll post on it if the discusion gets good. I say go ahead and start it.

I'd join every week if I had something to say on every aspect of writing. But be sure that if there is something that you write about that I have a little bit of knowledge on, I'll take part.

I think it is a great idea. I will only post in the thread if I have knowledge on the subject though.

Exactly what kind of "subject" would these be on? A story, a way of writing? A book series? What kind, Mirren? After that's answered, I guess I'd like to participate.

^ Anything. All of the examples you said, and more. It'll be a free-for-all. It could be any type of discussion pertaining to both writing and literature.


And I've decided to make it bi-monthly, as a week now does indeed seem too short. I hope to start one up either tomorrow, or just wait another week maybe. But right now, with the positive response I've gotten, I can say that this will definitely be held.

Sounds good to me. I'd join in, and it might convince me to start a fanfic or two.
