[Poetry] The Authoress' Corner

On this day I find myself
Observing different wealth
The quiet sound if footsteps
A ring of a church bell

The bells across the courtyard
They sound as though they cry
Singing out to someone
Who's heart will never die

The song never ends
It goes on and on
The tree of love won't break
It will only bend

Memories won't die
So long as you have them
And if you don't forget me
Then with death I will contend



Yeaaaaaa, so it's been a while, I know, but here's another longy.

Tread deep in agony and sorrow
Forgetting about the over the marrow
Smile with eyes of light
ill die but ill be reborn tonight
doomed to a fate ill have to fallow
living or dieing time and time again
at least Noel i know your always be my friend.

Sunrise

The darkness fades away
The sky turns grey
Opening wide, the sky turns bright
Awakening a new day

Weeping Willow Trees

You'll find me here
Where I'll always be
Standing underneath
The weeping willow tree

They say the trees cry
For a lost loved one
So it seems quite fitting
For my work to be done

Sadness is Happiness
For people like me
And often I wonder
Will I be truely ever free

The sorrow I carry
Is something that can't be rid
And the passion I have
Is something farewell I can't bid.

The fires are lit, and they burn with a din
The competition is ready, let the games begin!
Each team comes forth to show what they've done
Reminding us in a few weeks, one will have won!

Each person works hard
There are trials to be done
And that gold medal shines
Like a piece of the sun

I like what you've got here! Each has an excellent feel and rhythm. I love the transcendental feel to them. I think "Weeping willow trees" is my favorite so far. You've really got a gift for poetry, keep it up!

I like these. It definitely does seem like you draw inspiration from the transcendentalist poets, or those who helped bridge Romanticism to Modern Poetry (In some of the later poems you've written, you've got a sort of Emily Dickinson-esque thing going on, especially with 'On this day I find myself', which was nice).

I have to agree that Willow Tree is my favorite so far. The one suggestion I have for it: 'For my work to be done' might work better as' For where my work is done.' It just was sort of confusing to read for me the first way.
