(Responding to Holden's post in my "Star Crash" thread: Thanks, man. Good idea. Any and all feedback should be kept in one place anyway. And I look forward to hearing what you have to say!)
Anyway, yeah, I wanted to announce the release of "Star Crash," my 18th short story. It was written for English class, and it is an adaptation of Shakespeare's
The Tempest, taking the overall plot of the play and putting it in the context of the first scene. And then putting all that in space. Because that's what I do! This marks the third exploding spaceship (or at least damaged spaceship) in my short stories--"A Future Lost" and "Trust Fall" both had them--but this is the first one to include one that has a happy ending.
I also wanted to point out my shiny, new collection thread, entitled "The Many Worlds of EzloSpirit" (also the name of my little fictitious publishing company that I usually put at the top my stories). Based on a suggestion in this thread (or the first Writer's Pad; I don't remember) months ago, I decided to consolidate all of the short stories I've ever published anywhere on
ZU into a single thread. This also allows readers to post their reactions to my oldest stories without necroposting. As of this morning, all of the stories (including "Star Crash") I've published to
ZU up to now are in the thread, each in a separate post. I will be adding links to my latest album of (free!) audiobooks in the coming week.
You can read "Star Crash" either in
its own thread--it will be the last of my stories to be posted in a separate thread--or in
my new collection thread--all feedback on the story should (and only can) go in the collection thread. You can find the collection thread
here! Enjoy!
And one final...R.I.P. "The Shadow Loop," my planned 2011 Halloween story. You will be sorely missed.
MORE: (11/2/2011 @ 7PM): I just wanted to add (without double posting!) that, following Zelda Reorchestrated's live Q&A session on Vokle, I will be holding my own (unrelated) Q&A session on Vokle and on my blog (using Vokle's embeddable platform) this Friday night at 7PM EDT during which I will be discussing my two current projects (
The Current and
Armed with Wings). In addition, people can ask me questions about my writing (any I've ever done, published or not, or even that I never got to do!), writing in general, and maybe video game-related things (or
Doctor Who!).
Head over to this link on Friday to view and/or participate in the discussion! I look forward to chatting with you! (Yes, you will be able to see what I look like.)
