[Poetry] Gamzee's Corner

been listening to too much peppers man.


You got a little hill in your valley,
gimme your keys, girl, 'cause I'm the valet.
I might have failed high school physics
but I'm gonna find a way to fit this.
If you've got the moves and you've got the gall
then suck on that straw right above my balls.
I got that perfect fertilizer
that I'm gonna put right inside her.

I'm the ferry free of fare,
rocking out those love affairs.
If you need some bush trimmed back
that's two for one, I'll cut you some slack.
She came to me on the second week,
filled her up, swept her off her feet.

She called my hound out of its mound.
She took it for a walk around the grounds.
Her hand had gripped around the leash
she kept it there until release.
Finally push had come to shove
and I asked myself, "is this love?"
But alas I knew so I had to go,
but I know there will always be more hoes.

To Observe Around

'tis a rainy day in your heart
when I'm forced to be your umbrella.
When the unrelenting downpour
assaults you more and more.

But! I say -
the distant light is mine;
your ignorance you define
is a tragic play.
You choose wildfire over crisp candle.
It's a flawful mantle.

I might question my own reaction,
for I laugh at the line he acts on.
There is no doubt:
it won't work out.
In time the Earth shall open up

You have such a way with poetry Gamzee. It's incredible.

I've been reading through the pages here and I like what I read. I hope you don't me using one of your poetry (or maybe even a few) in the near future to create an art piece with it. I'll give you credit of course.

If you did that I'm not sure what would happen first: me instantaneously exploding from your kindness, or me reaching an inconceivable level of gay.

Bursting in another world
to ascend to the top.
An idea for how to mold,
all that we can see.
Ideas that are not fake;
a perfect manifesto.
We'll make all the people wake,
and realize the proper ways.

She keeps her electric eye on it,
for the utopia of tomorrow.
People shall freak out and pawn it
to every shop in the world.
There is something about a muse
that draws the gap close.
The company I shall not refuse
not this day and never again.

And with Major Tom as my witness
I decree a new regime.
She'll lead us out of darkness,
and deliver the new dream.

Damn good post son.
I am proud.

Bowie would also be proud.

The Blood Lord

Galaxies die and stars are born,
immune to Gods while in this form.
I shall arrive with no signal,
my presence stands I am abyssal.
Strong and calm a tool of fate,
but an artisan - never late.
So tremble, fear, pray for mercy.
Get on knees or tip and curtsey.
The Blood Lord demands that each take part,
or be cast away and killed in dark.

But a small spot remains untouched

Within this calm the din does not breach;

'tis where I sit with my muse
and inspiration flows about.
Not rain nor flood can halt us

I'm not a poetry guy, but this was unbelievably awesome. Would you mind if I quoted it in things I'm writing? I would give you credit, of course.

Sure thing dude. If you're interested I based it off of a character in a little short I wrote, also titled The Blood Lord.

Sunken Memory

Soft lullaby, sing for me.
Tick away the notes of my life.
Of the life I gave away.
Discarded, forgotten,
torn apart by time.

Raise the sails and set forth,
there is a debt to be paid.
I will not sit and rot to hell, no -
not without her head.
Life shall wither and fade
while tears of pain flow;
face of wrath
swallow all liberty away.

I keep it close.
The soft lullaby does not leave my side.
Unable to forget, only able to reminisce
of decades lost.

Soft lullaby, sing for me.

This line totally made the poem for me. I ... interpret this in a way that you ask the lullaby to sing for you and that contrast and unusualness absolutely made me fall in love with the poem. And as it continued in the first verse, the dark depth felt absolutely capturing.

And in contrast to the first verse, the second was so powerful and determined that I was almost trembling here! Still, that calmness came back in the end and it... sort of... framed the poem and this is why it feels really finished and complete and... meaningful.

But I still fail at wording these properly, so take this heart: <3

We may try
to stop the collapsing
from deep inside
ourselves.

All thoughts were caught,
slain and bought,
and once more in false haven
we delude ourselves with soft lies.

It isn't forceful, it's how I was raised.
To see and believe and ears shut.
They can choose what they want,
but with savior water lungs are filled.

We Live For Mercy

Through the smokey haze
came a scarlet dress.
Marvelous it was;
I so confessed.
Closer it came,
'til the crimson lips
dripped on the dress.

"Meddle with time," her voice quivered,
"feel otherworldly with me."

Her lips may have been tempting,
her voice reverberating,
but the truth was in her tears.

"Afraid not, my dear," I said,
"I won't face the change again."

In the moment before she collapsed,
brief humanity leaked from me.
And I wished, oh, how I wished,
that death would set her free.

Every tick and every tock
the clouds grow and the sun blocked.
A second grows and grows and grows
I wonder when the road will show.
Time slows to a halt.
Time that is not mine.
Alone in the hands of a lonely night,
wondering which of us is at fault.

Beautiful! Usually I'm not one for poetry with the exception of some Poe, but excellent.

Thank you! Poe is actually one of my inspirations so that might be why ya like mine.

Progress Pictured

Old bones & retirement homes,
skeletons white as chalk;
the only voices that talk.

Black umbrella
Dragging a cane
torn with scorching pain.

Decay of culture -
starts to null her
forgetting who we were.

Forget forget

Five Years to Best Doubt

Sever me -
